i hear that liverpool are going to apply to the goverment for permission to ban smoking in all restaurants and bars- do you think this is a good move?

Yes i think its a good idea from a heath point of view but i know alot of people that will not go out unless they can smoke- will this put the pub industry in jeapody??

Nah, it will make pubs a nicer place to drink. The Hillsbrough Hotel is a non-smoking pub and it's always busy when it's open.

Good selection of hand pulled cask ales, a friendly and unsmoky atmosphere.

I like how I can go to the pub there without my clothes reeking of smoke when I get back.

I guess if you remove peoples choice and force them to go to non-smoking bars then they will have to go, or stay at home.

I think there should be non-smoking pubs which people can choose to go to and smoking bars which people can choose to go to.

I don't smoke BTW (but I used to).

MOD: Closing this thread as there are several others covering the same issue (except for the Liverpool bit). Please do a search on threads with smoking in the title.
