Does anyone remember the Indian Village and why it was so named? I was told it was the local name for the steep hill which led up to Tinsley Park Colliery from Shepcote Lane. The reason, I was told, was the chimneys on the houses which lined the road looked like an Red Indian headdress near dawn or dusk.
