today i lost control of my car coming off the parkway, i took the slip road coming off the parkway heading towards town at the wholesale market turn off the one that takes you to makro. you know the one that bends right soon as you come off. anyway as soon as i hit the bend doing 20mph my car went in to a spin and must have spun round 4 to 5 times before getting grounded on the embankment on the otherside of the road. my point is when i got towed away the pick up driver told me thaT there had been another 4 accidents there this week, and the reason for so many accidents was the amount of diesel on the road from certain chemical firms located around, no names mentioned. as this damaged my car due to no error of my own and the council doing nothing to sort this out who should pay? fortunatly we were all alright. council sort it out

That's bad news! The recent heavy rain won't have helped either.

Maybe you should report it to the Police and the Council? Once they are aware of something like that they take on a responsibility if they don't clean it up. I'm not sure if Parkway is maintained by SCC or the highway Agency, but the Council Highway Dpt should be a good starting place.

I know the exact area you're on about, the reason I know, several years back friends of mine had exactly the same problem and spun off the road. The police who came out said it was diesel on the road surface and so I'm sure the highways authority must be aware of the problem. My friends van suffered minor damage but the passenger had a painful back for weeks afterwards, they were lucky they almost took a car out with them as well. Transit vans don't tend to like spinning 360 degrees.

I know it - exact same spot, driver coming towards us on bend spun, just missed us head on. You get that 'If we had been 2 seconds earlier' sort of thought...
About six years ago, that.

Yeah that part of the road is dangerous trouble is the highways wont do anything about it. I had a differnt experiance when travellin along sheffield road where i hit too pot holes and damaged both alloy wheels , i put a claim in and theyve told be they inspect the road every 6 months and when they last checked it was ok, that was 2 months before my accident. They dont like paying compensation for there own road surfaces.

wibbles until you do it yourself and you just know what the road falls like you cannot judge for starters it arcs to the right and down hill. so little humour from you is uncalled for, anyway it doesnt matter the speed the fact that its not cleared is the joke
