View Full Version : Yarn on sale at the Lidl
Here is what's on offer come Thursday 15th. I think Lidl have quite a few good things. I'll certainly be going to have a look at their yarn on Thursday.

beansforyou 09-03-2007, 01:08 Thanks for the heads up wheezy.
I'll be popping along to see if I can pick up a few bits from the sewing section.

You're welcome beansforyou ;)
Don't forget today's the day for LIDL - wonder if it's any good, I'll let you know when I've been
littleblue 15-03-2007, 13:25 Argh I completely forgot!!
Off I trundle!
Went to Lidl but didn't buy anything, probably because I wasn't in the mood (toothache) anyway, they had lots of dk and fluffy (eyelash) yarn and circular needles and sewing kits and boxes. Might have another look another day when I'm more in the mood. Anybody else bought anything?
Nope, I've not been. I don't even know if there's one round here...
littlemissy 16-03-2007, 07:26 I bought lots of spare needles. At 99p a pop I decided to stock up as I am always losing them! I also bought some crochet yarn and some red DK.
littleblue 16-03-2007, 16:52 I got 8 50g balls of white crochet cotton for £3.99! Bargain! Now I can get those mats my mother wants done!

Been back to the Lidl today and bought some multi colour 100% cotton - 300g for 3.99 which I thought was ok. It comes with a pattern for a ladies jumper, bag and dish cloth! :o The crochet yarn looks good value too, but I can't crochet, so get thee behind me crochet yarn!! :gag: Oh, found the rum balls too Littleblue - you've started something now! :hihi: :help:
littleblue 24-03-2007, 01:28 When were you in there? I landed at about 6.30ish. Got some rum balls (oh yes) and a bluey greeny lot of cotton to make another bolero (really don't have the patience for a full jumper) :D

I was in at about 7pm, but don't forget, I'm a Rotherhamer..... Were you in one of them Sheffield there shops? Nice rum balls by the way! ;)

Eeep! Do you know what a pain it is getting hold of proper dishcloth cotton in the uk? I am super jealous (can't get to a Lidl and even if I could, I'm spendless til payday :( ).

Ahhhhh now I see the flaw in my plan.
I do like those balls ;)
Tempted to go back today to get the rose coloured cotton so I can make a jumper. Hmmmm yarn...

I've got loads of Debbie Bliss 100% cotton in gab colours that is great for dishcloths (not greta for bleaching though) - and the ecru or white 100% cotton craft cotton that is perfect for the job. Might not be the same price as Lidl though.........
Madam_Bo 26-03-2007, 10:16 Thanks for the heads-up Jill! I don't know if I'd feel comfy scrubbing the pots with Debbie Bliss cotton, but I'll know to come to you when I need to replenish my dishcloth stash.
I don't have a Lidl nearby, but the bloke was in Aldi at the weekend and picked up an absolutely huge ball of baby yarn for under £2. Should be able to keep the dolls in the dolls clothes appeal kitted out for the foreseeable future  .
