Even Radio 2 news this morning shoe-horned in a mention of Mrs Slocomb's pussy, which always raises a snigger. Poor old Inman... he was a lovely old queen. :(

Once saw an interview with him and they asked if he was afraid of being typecast. He was astounded that they'd even asked him - said Mr Humphries had made him famous, loved and rich! It was refreshing to hear an actor be so grateful instead of whinging on about it being a hard life.

Nearly every newspaper & t.v. article Ive read, say that gays didnt like John Inman. Why is this ? I cant see anything wrong with him or his act ? They mostly say, they dont like his potrayel of gays.Surely they realise this was just an act, and o.K. I know he was gay in real lfe, but surely he didnt act like this all the time ?I saw him on t.v. as himself and didnt act like this at all.

That was the way gays were portrayed back in the 70's, and you can't blame John if he was typecast by programme makers - work is work. Christopher Biggins is the same, I suppose the pink brigade hate him too?
