what happened to the £10 night at the crown scotland street, i believe it was cancelled? why? what happened to the thread? :huh:

The authorties came in and spoke to us as well as getting pople phoning to complain about the night so we decided it was best to cancel.

We were trying to give pople a night that that was a money worries night not an excuse for a drunken brawl it obviously wasnt popular and we would like to think we listen to what the public want and although a few were intrested in the idea most thought it was daft so to save any further trouble we decided to cancel.

We dont want to be regarded as a bar that causes problems both to the authorities and are local residents

Are you still running the open mic nights? Still want a band on to do an acoustic set?

why not try a special priced happy hour, surely no one apart from the dogooders can object to that.

thought you might struggle with that, those 10 all in nights have a really really bad press and simple fact is that just being up from the police station they were bound to do something about it!!

t/lis, sorry to hear that the £10 night idea didn't work out but well done for listening to the views of the public and authorities and actually acting on them. Not many licensed venues would do this so you should be commended!

I think its appalling you weren't even allowed to try it! Fair enough if it was causing trouble but to stop with out giving it a fair go smacks of the police overstepping their mark.

Thanks alot for all the comments we will keep trying. We just wanted to show you can take some of the nights that are seen as trashy nights and make them less so. Obviously chose the wrong one but we will always listen to the police e.c.t and work along side them as appose to against them. We are thinking of doing a Kareoke night but with a piano instead of the normal tv and also have alot of dj nights that should be really cool mixing djs with acoustic bands will be checking if these nights are ok before we go ahead with them though.
