We are thinking of moving into Loxley (Normandale Av area). We searched old posts but found not too much about Loxley. What the area is like? It seems really quite. What we are most interested to know: is the area in high demand? We are not sure we will be here for a long time so will we be able to sell a house after say a couple of years? Or nobody wants to live where and we will be selling for ages?
Thank you for all opinions!

Loxley is one of Sheffield's best-kept secrets. It is quiet, suburban, near-rural, family-friendly, genteel-ish without being snobby about it (unlike certain areas of S10 and S11) and you're only a stone's throw from Bradfield and the countryside. Lovely views out over the Valley and towards Bradfield.
The Post Office is the only shop (now that the "Booze & News" place has closed) but it seems to sell a lot of things! However, it's only a brisk walk up to Wisewood, where you can get your hair cut, buy fish and chips, etc.
There are fairly regular buses... the 14 to town and the Rural Links to Hillsboro'. Tram is only just up the road, too.
Good local primary school - over-subscribed. Catchment for Bradfield secondary, which is well-regarded and came 3rd in Sheffield's league tables (out of the non-selective state schools).
The only thing it lacks really, if you have family, is a children's playground. There has been talk for a while of one being built on the meadow next to Black Lane beside the football/cricket pitch, but I am not sure how far those moves have gone.
