What?? 5 people tuned in??? :hihi:
You sarcastic so and so you!!!!!!!
Draggletail 20-10-2004, 17:05 Hilarious, better than ever! Two great new characters 'Bubbles De'Vere' the naked fat women, and the grown up guy who still breast feeds from his mother:gag:
Great!!
i missed it grrr! it had 1.8 million viewers
When's it coming to terrestial?
Brilliant stuff
They have got rid of Ray the scottish hotel owner though.... big no no-
Hope they rethink that and get him into the 3rd series if they do one.
YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS
I thought the 2 old girls at the jam tasting was a bit naff tho.
kittykat 21-10-2004, 23:28 Im still mourning at the loss of Ray McCooney the scottish hotel owner and have therefore dedicated my sheffield forum persona to him.
He was a legend and would have rather seen more of him than the breast feeding posh bloke cos thats just like another boy fancying best mates grandma one which makes you feel SLIGHTLY uncomfortable.
It was great though I liked the village fete woman who kept throwing up at the mention who made the stuff she was eating.
Bloomdido 21-10-2004, 23:35 Too much expectation. Series 1 was from somewhere totally leftfield and I don't think this series can match the expectation.
We should start a campaign to bring back the man- Ray!!
How I miss the fella.

Totally agree. I hope the new series warms up a bit because it's lost that beautifully written radio base that made it in the first place.
The first series was almost word for word identical to the radio version. The TV version just brought the characters even more to life.
Too many purely visual gags now, and TBH, I've grown out of finding naked ladies or vomit in the least bit funny.

agree entirely - BRING RAY BACK!!!!!!!!
I wonder if he ever got that TV (window) fixed? by night it's as black as a witches cape dontca know :D
Hmm... having now watched 2 episodes, I'm not that impressed. The W.I. women who keeps being sick is pretty lame, childish humour (I had hoped she would be a one-off).
Also, the fat fighter woman is getting boring and jokes like not understanding the Indian woman doesn't really do much for me.
Anyone else prefer the last series?

The last series was outstanding, possibly the funniest comedy I've ever seen. I'm going to wait until the new series starts on BBC 2. I hope there's not too many new characters, otherwise there won't be enough time for all the old favourites.
Interested to read some more opinions on this. As someone mentioned earlier, the site of a man pretending to be a naked woman and/or someone being sick is pretty cheap humour and comes as a bit of a sad/sell-out shock to a series 1 fan such as myself.
I was interested to hear such positive reviews... personally I don't find it funny, but i would have laughed my rocks off at it when i was 15 - 18 years old. It is the sort of humour me and my friends loved, and so a lot of the 'jokes' seem pretty familiar. I guess the whole point of cult shows is that not that many people get it though, eh?
I think of this and things like League of Gentlemen as what I like to call 'Starbucks TV'. I get the impression that they are not just selling a comedy series, but a lifestyle too. I'm sure a lot of people watch it because they think they should get it, or, heaven forbid, they are missing out.
I must be one of the minority who doesn't find this funny
Required - Sense of Humour transplant, please PM with details :suspect:

It's funny in places, but it has lost it's "edge"
A.B.Yaffle 22-11-2004, 22:52 I've forced myself to sit through a couple of episodes ... but I just don't find it funny. The jokes are too similar, and so predictable. They seem to be trying to rehash old jokes from original brilliant shows such as League of Gentlemen.
although still good i agree that the first series was better

Yeah, but even League went crap for series 3. I hope they don't do any more.

SpiderPete 09-11-2005, 19:35 Yoohoooo  I cannot wait either, they are by far the best comedians ever, just bought the 1st series on DVD, sooo funny.
second series is class... cant wait for it to start on 19th... bring it on
Zinger549 17-11-2005, 19:29 Series three starts tonight 9 o'clock bbc1
oooooooooh look what I found (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19387&perpage=15&highlight=little%20britain&pagenumber=3), another thread:hihi:
AtticusFinch 18-11-2005, 10:03 I thought last nights show was quite funny. I laughed out loud at the incontinent old woman p*ssing herself in the middle of the supermarket, even though it was very crude and not particularly subtle. :hihi:
Yeah I know. :)
Don_Kiddick 18-11-2005, 10:07 Me too Daley - had to switch channels though cos the lad was still up & asking too many embarrassing questions  :hihi:
I don't think either series 2 or 3 lived up to the original.
clairerob 20-11-2005, 21:18 I found it very funny but nearly all of the show was done in their live show I went to see a few weeks ago so spoiled it for me. It was the exact same sketches. Still found it funny though.
