Who's watching it? I love it and I wasn't even born in the 70's!! Great mix of comedy, gritty storylines and mystery! Fab :)

Anyway, now you've been suitably reprimanded ... yes it's been a great programme ... inspired - and I was there the first time around ... 70s I mean :)

Can't help feeling that this programme is massively overhyped. Once you've got over the gimmick that it was made in 2006 but looks like it was made in the 1970s, it's just another cop show, and is there any more tired genre than that? I mean, we've all seen "The Bill".......

Did you miss the main thrust of the story? That Sam was a cop in 2006 who was hit by a car and is seemingly cast back in time (or in a coma and dreaming the lot). How the majority of the cases in the show have some relevance to his life in the future, and the voices and images from the future who are guiding him in his journey?

Yet another flounder reeled in by one of SF's most tireless anglers.

It's my favourite show on TV too.

Hopefully the ending to the series will be a good one.

Too many times programs have a weak ending after building up the suspense.

Just watching it for the very first time and really enjoying it. Think it might be a must see and also might be worth buying the DVDs of the first series! And living through the 70's again - seeing all the fashions of the day (which unfortunatly (!) I can relate to) plus the cars. Anyone know where it was filmed? Just that I though the scene tonight in the baths looked like the old Hillsborough Bath?

the baths were the old manchester baths that featured in one of those "restoration" thingies, in the last couple of years, with Griff Rhys Jones.

I thought they were a dead ringer fot the oldd glossop rd/ heeley/ park baths in sheff, too (Ahhh memories of 1973!)

It was frustrating last night that BBC4 didn't show a new episode.

Various places in Manchester. Ancoats comes up quite a lot because many streets are still cobbled and have lots of old mills.

Life On Mars is the only programme I turn on to watch, since Top Gear became so crap. Who wants to see grown men pretending to be boys? We can watch Life on Mars for that.

Redirect me to any threads about how brilliant Top Gear is if you like but I'm not bothered any more.

Another great episode of Life on Mars. Brilliant - all that un-political correctness - class! It just shows how things have changed so much since the 70's. Loved it tonight when Sam and Annie were Tony & Cherie Blair - marvellous! The scriptwriters are marvellous - keep up the good work I say!

Wonder if they were watching? Hope so - Tony's a kid of the 70s! :hihi:

Fantastic programme - brings back lots of memories.

Weird thing is, it doesn't seem that long ago. Sometimes I watch it with my 17 year old lad and to him it's ancient history but now I know what pensioners mean when they say it seems like yesterday. The cars and clothes are totally recognisable. 34 years ago? Can't be.

I'll let you into a little secret - "Life On Mars" was actually made in 2006.

Hilarious moment of last night - Gene Hunt at swingers party, when asked why he'd brought a prostitute with him. "Well, I wasn't going to be bringing my own wife, was I?"

classic ... :)
