I new Casey would be quick this year cant wait for the race
cmon Rossi....
BigDonWizzle 10-03-2007, 13:43 well the first race is out of the way and a lot going on with the current champion finishing no were.Rossi getting a good second place with the unbelievable power of the ducati snatching first with the young Casey stoner.i also think that hopper had a really good race finishing fourth with a broken hand.
couldn't believe the power of the ducati:confused:
Casey Stoner rode really well- there really wasn't anything that you could criticise was there (even if I wanted to, cos he wasn't the one I wanted to win).
MuteWitness 10-03-2007, 16:53 Rossi did great to keep 2nd place with a clearly slower bike - Am not sure if Stoner will be able to keep getting good positions or if he was just lucky today. Glad Hayden didnt do very well!
fredsredhat 12-03-2007, 21:19 Glad Hayden didnt do very well!
Am I the only Hayden fan in this country? I dont think Stoner will be too consitent, He'll be fast on good days then fall off most others. Glad for Hopper to put a good show in.
BigDonWizzle 13-03-2007, 12:28 yeh hopper had a good race with broken hand.i prefer hopper to hayden, but wot about the power of the Ducati?
BigDonWizzle 17-03-2007, 14:48 The next GP is in Spain.
The circuit details
Built in 1986, this circuit hosted its first race one year later, becoming one of the most popular Grand Prixs in the world. Situated in Southern Spain, it is a technical track characterized by two straights and fast curves of varying difficulty that make it one of the most loved circuits for both the riders and spectators. In 2006, there were 242, 000 people who attended the three day event. Thanks to its facilities and good climatic conditions, Jerez is often chosen for Winter Tests.

It looks like its going to be a good race with pedrosa grabbing pole and THE DOCTOR in second.Casey stoner looked strong in qualifying and i think he will want to get off to a good start.Hayden still struggling back in 11th "what's going on there"....Hopkins did good in my view still getting 6th place with that hand injury and not putting many laps in.Rossi tends to do well in Spain and i hope he can tomorrow and maybe this time we might see a similar last lap like the one a few years a go with sete and rossi, but with pedrosa instead. C mon rossi..
BigDonWizzle 25-03-2007, 16:23 Great race today and a good win for valentino.Hopper was unlucky, and Hayden did nothing just turn up....

fredsredhat 28-03-2007, 18:58 great race. Glad to see Rossi stamping his authority, all back to business. Hayden had a flying first few laps but just dropped off. I hope he'll get back on form soon and put a challenge to rossi, though i am a hayden fan i dont think he's got the talent to really challenge rossi. Nice one for the times etc big don.
BigDonWizzle 28-03-2007, 19:19 No probs Fred... Not nice to see Hayden back there he should be up there with the front runner's im in pressed with the Suzuki and hopper think they will be good this year.

WhiteHawk 13-04-2007, 19:02 Nice to see theres a few MotoGP fans on here!
Anyone here going to any races this year? I'm going to Donington for the full weekend, Thu - Mon, can't wait!!
Loving the new Suzuki, it looks superb. I fancy them to do well this season. I reckon Rossi will take the title again but Pedrosa will run him close, not sure if Stoner will keep up with him. He's certainly got the bike, that Ducati is like lightning! Not sure if he's got the mentality to stick it out though, he makes a few too many mistakes.
Anyone think Hayden will be in the frame?

nice to see another rossi fan in here:hihi:
went to donnington last year camping from Wednesday night to the race.
it was wicked, weather was red hot everyday the only bad thing England lost to Portugal on big screen..rossi had an amazing race starting in about 11th i think and he got second.wanting to go again this year not sure how long for though and don't know how I'm getting there yet but I'm going;)
dont think hayden will make it in top 3

We just went for the Sunday last year. The weather was superb! Yeh Rossi had a magnificent race, was 11th he started yeh, just brilliant.
Hayden seems to be struggling with the bike so far so looking at it now I would no to him making the top 3. You never know though, sounds like there's still going to be big developments to the Honda, if they sort it out soon then you never know, hope not though!! I want the Suzuki's to do well. I fell in love with them after hearing them last year!!! It was by far the best sounding bike on the grid!
Did you go the year before last when it absolutely banged it down all day? it was horrible! Didn't stop us getting absolutely bladdered though. We were so drunk that when we couldn't find the car afterwards, we just sat down in the middle of the field and had another couple of cans........
BigDonWizzle 14-04-2007, 11:44 In respect to the development to the Honda it makes u think who Honda think is no1 regardless of the sticker on the bikes as Hayden is riding with old parts witch pedrosa as all new.all they will do to Hayden's bike is put it on par with Pedrosa's . i think hopper is going to be quick this week especially if his hand is better think the suzuki's will come through.
BigDonWizzle 18-04-2007, 11:21 :headbang: :headbang:
well not long to go now for the race:o
Turkey - one of only three circuits on this year's calendar that valentino has not won at, the others being Laguna Seca in the USA and Misano in Italy.
this track maybe a bit tough for rossi as it has a very long straight and that horse power of the ducati just may shine again weather it be loris or Casey. I think loris is due to have a good race.
My race prediction is
1st rossi
2nd stoner
3rdpedrosa
my prediction may change after qualifying:huh:

and mint i ad that its the last time there will be a GP at Istanbul as there have pulled the circuit out. Don't know if it will be replaced. Rossi took pole i new he would come through , but only just as pedrosa was faster in the last min of qualifying until the last corner when he was held up by hopper. I think it will be a very tough race for valentino with the ducati team doing well all weekend and he as never won there and will want to.

i could not believe that rossi smashed 990 lap record which no one in the last ten Min's came close to catch in, but i think it will be a different race tomorrow and a very hard race for rossi as a lot of us see stoner or any other ducati as favorite.
fredsredhat 05-05-2007, 20:48 Wasn't every ducati faster down the straight? it's a shame Roberts is so down the order. last year he fought a good few races, same for melandri and capirossi.
BigDonWizzle 06-05-2007, 16:55 a great race ,, my 3 favorite riders on the podium not quit in this order though..
1 Casey Stoner Ducati Marlboro Team Ducati GP7
2 Valentino Rossi Fiat Yamaha Team Yamaha M1
3 John Hopkins Rizla Suzuki MotoGP Suzuki GSV-R800
4 Dani Pedrosa Repsol Honda Team Honda RC212V
5 Marco Melandri Honda Gresini Honda RC212V
6 Loris Capirossi Ducati Marlboro Team Ducati GP7
7 Chris Vermeulen Rizla Suzuki MotoGP Suzuki GSV-R800
8 Randy De Puniet Kawasaki Racing Team Kawasaki
9 Alex Hofmann Pramac D'Antin Ducati GP7
10 Carlos Checa Honda LCR Honda RC212V
11 Colin Edwards Fiat Yamaha Team Yamaha M1
12 Nicky Hayden Repsol Honda Team Honda RC212V
13 Sylvain Guintoli Tech 3 Yamaha Yamaha M1
14 Alex Barros Pramac D'Antin Ducati GP7
15 Kenny Roberts Jr Team Roberts KR212V
Great rides from the top three. Rossi was able to stick with Stoner until the back straight, Rossi had no chance. Tried a few times to outbrake Stoner made a mistake and the race was over for Valentino.
kenny jr ..wots happening there..........
fredsredhat 11-05-2007, 18:36 Rossi was clearley the faster man but he just couldn't keep with the power of the Ducati. Hats off to Stoner to keep calm and composed under Rossi's pressure. Oh yeah, guess who's off to Assen in june :banana::banana::banana::wave:
BigDonWizzle 14-05-2007, 11:39 Rossi was clearley the faster man but he just couldn't keep with the power of the Ducati. Hats off to Stoner to keep calm and composed under Rossi's pressure. Oh yeah, guess who's off to Assen in june :banana::banana::banana::wave:
wicked fred i wish i could go with u:hihi:
just donnington for me:)
weather i get a lift or walk down m1 with sign on my back:D
fredsredhat 14-05-2007, 19:41 Its £stupid£££ to do the weekend at donnington or a £70 return ferry with a £30 weekend pass for assen! There's a seat on the back of my bike if you fancy it.
WhiteHawk 14-05-2007, 19:59 Its £stupid£££ to do the weekend at donnington or a £70 return ferry with a £30 weekend pass for assen! There's a seat on the back of my bike if you fancy it.
£30 for the weekend at Assen??!! :o
I wish we'd known that before we arranged to go to Donington for the weekend!! It'd be ace to camp out for the weekend at Assen!
fredsredhat 14-05-2007, 20:22 yeah it costs more for race day at donington than it does for the weekend at assen!!!
WhiteHawk 14-05-2007, 20:27 Wow! We'll bear that in mind for next year!
Can't wait for Donington this year though. Its going to be an absolutely superb weekend. If the weather is like it was lat year it'll be immense, on the other hand, if the weathers like it was 2 years ago then it'll be the worst weekend ever.....
Its cost £78 for the full weekend pass plus camping. Plus, I might be able to get a couple of pit passes for the Friday. I might be able to get a couple free through work so fingers crossed!
fredsredhat 14-05-2007, 21:18 we went on the wet weekend!!! my boots were full of water, i spent far too much money, the traffic was chaos, the facilities are a bit lacking and for the cash we spent we could've gone abroad........
WhiteHawk 14-05-2007, 21:33 The wet one was the first GP I went to. This year will be the first time I've been for the weekend.
The amount of rain that came down that year was of biblical proportions, I expected to see Noah floating round the circuit!!
BigDonWizzle 16-05-2007, 18:57 The next GP
Track country: France
Track length: 4180m, 2.598miles
Track width: 13 m
Longest straight: 450m, 0.28miles
Track left corners: 4
Track right corners: 9
We may see the first wet race of the season this week, and im hoping rossi can pull some points back.
come on rossi:thumbsup:
fredsredhat 16-05-2007, 20:31 yeah at least with the shorter straight Rossi might have a decent chance. My prediction. Rossi - Pedrosa - Stoner.
WhiteHawk 17-05-2007, 08:58 Come one Vale. Lets hope Stoner has a brainstorm like he used to and ends up going off! Hopefully he'll be useless in the wet!! (I don't want him to get injured of course though!)

fredsredhat 20-05-2007, 16:39 Guintoli lead a GP race on Dunlops!!!!!! He was the man of the meeting. Hoffman 5th!!! Vermulen- class act. Shame to see Rossi so low down. is he losing his edge?
BigDonWizzle 21-05-2007, 11:14 i hope not Fred thought rossi would have done a bit better but wot a race bikes coming of the circuit everywhere. I always liked the Kawasaki's and it was nice to see one lead for a little while until randy threw him self off:hihi:
WhiteHawk 22-05-2007, 16:22 Rossi seems to be having a bad season again this year. Remember though, he started off badly last year and got right back in it, only to lose it again on the last race. He certainly can't be ruled out yet!
Was a good race though Sunday, great to see RDP leading for a bit! Glad Vermuelen won aswell, the Suzukis are ace
fredsredhat 22-05-2007, 20:03 thats true, but when was the last convincing race he had where he had a MASSIVE lead? He won Jerez this yr with a 1.2 sec lead. the last race before that was last SEPTEMBER when he won with a 0.145 gap!!! (source www.motogp.com)

What a fantastic race between Stoner and Rossi today. Couldn't have been closer without wiping each other out. I was just itching for Rossi to get past on the last corner.
Can't wait for being there in person for the next one :)
BigDonWizzle 12-06-2007, 10:41 great race ,now just 2 weeks to donnington wa hay...........
cmon rossi
fredsredhat 16-06-2007, 18:29 I'd like to see Rossi do a race on the Ducati. He'd be unstoppable. Anyone think Stoner would be up Rossi's exhaust if they swapped bikes?
WhiteHawk 18-06-2007, 21:21 Absolutely no chance. Rossi would absolutely obliterate everything in its path. Saying that though, the Ducati isn't built for cornering, its built for speed on the straights. Still think Rossi would walk most races though.
Not long now till Donington. I'll be making my way down there on Thursday, I'm dreading seeing what state the campsite is in though after all the rain.
I've got a VIP pass for Saturday aswell. From what I've been told I'll be spening the day with the Tech 3 team :this is where the cool smiley goes, the one on this forum looks more like a blind man though.....:
fredsredhat 22-06-2007, 19:50 let us know how you get on with the vip pass *I'm not jealous*
WhiteHawk 25-06-2007, 16:35 What a superb weekend. Weather wasn't the greatest but we were in the caravan so it didn't really bother us, also, it didn't rain too heavy whilst we were by the track, not by the biblical amounts of rain there was in 2005 anyway!!
The VIP passes were ace, got to wander all around the paddock and into the Tech 3 garage, got some decent pics as we were stood in the pit lane bang next to the Fiat Yamaha garage. I didn't get any autographs but my mate got lads when he went round. He got his photo with Capirossi and about 8 autographs. The first time we went into the paddock we saw Rossi straightaway, didn't have a marker or anything then though so couldn't get him to sign anything.
I'll post some pics later that I've taken myself then once I get some more what the other guys took, I'll post them aswell.
WhiteHawk 25-06-2007, 20:24 Heres the pics I took at Donington.

BigDonWizzle 03-07-2007, 17:31 great pics and a great race last weekend from rossi just hope he can keep it up
BigDonWizzle 12-07-2007, 16:52 Next MotoGP Sachenring, Germany, should be another good race with rossi and stoner , but i think pedrosa will be more involved as he won there last year and holds fastest lap recored. Also hopper has signed for kawasaki that could be a great team next year especially if they get cappirossi as well and maybe a 3rd kawasaki
WhiteHawk 23-07-2007, 09:27 Great rides last night from Melandri, Davies & young Hayden. I wouldn't be surprised so see the latter 2 racing next season.
I reckon Stoner's got the title just about sewn up now, he's too good to mess it up now and that Ducati is just immense. Can't see a way back for Rossi now.
Sounds like theres going to be a lot of changes between teams next year. I heard that there will 5 5 Yamaha's next season. The 2 factory bikes, 1 for Lorenzo, and the 2 Tech 3 bikes.
Anyone think Toseland will be in MotoGP next season? He's already said that if he doesn't get a factory ride he won't move, which is understandable, but what about the spare seat at Suzuki? Maybe they'll offer it to JT? I hope so, would be good to see a Brit, never mind a Sheffielder, battling for the title!!
EDIT - Melandri to Ducati next season (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/motorbikes/6911298.stm)
MuteWitness 23-07-2007, 10:47 why didn't bbc show it live???
WhiteHawk 23-07-2007, 11:11 They did, didn't they?
It was from California so the time difference meant it was on late over here.
The coverage started at 10:05 then they just cut immediately to the start of the race.
fredsredhat 23-07-2007, 19:43 for my money's worth - with Stoner it's all about the bike. Last yr on the LCR Honda he fell off more times than he finished. This yr on the Duc he's unstoppable and i have a theory. We went to Assen and the sound of the bikes gave a lot away. Stoner leant the bike on its ear and just gassed it and you could hear the traction control really fighting and struggling to keep straight and narrow. On the otherhand the Hayden's-Rossi's- Capirossi's were supersmooth on the throttle and the engine note never seemed like it was being strangled or artifically controlled. So it's all about the bike. I reckon Melandri will show Stoner up if he gets the same factory bike. After all did stoner put a challenge on what what was effectively the same sattelite honda?
WhiteHawk 23-07-2007, 20:10 I agree with you to an extent but I do think Stoner has come on leaps and bounds this season. We were having the same discussion in the pub last night watching the race, look at Capirossi, he's on the same bike as Stoner but is doing nothing.
fredsredhat 24-07-2007, 19:53 It's a shame but Capirossi hasn't done anything since that big accident last Yr. He's a quality rider.
MuteWitness 24-07-2007, 19:55 They "cut" to the start of the race but it was 7 laps behind eurosport - very odd - No good for in-play betting
fredsredhat 25-07-2007, 20:36 anyone got any onfo on KR Jr? Last i heard he was waiting for the special chassis and was returning at Laguna.......
BigDonWizzle 26-07-2007, 09:13 I read somewhere that snr said that he wouldn't have jnr riding the bike they had for free, so he put Kurtis on it!
Snr also said that they were waiting for a new chassis before he let jnr back on the bike.It seems KRJR has said he cannot take the bike any further in development...so he is sitting out until either Honda or Team KR give him something to move ahead...basically, he is tired of racing to be in last place everytime...and it is being rumoured that he may retire this year....
BigDonWizzle 01-08-2007, 21:49 Just read this on another site;
Another piece of the 2008 MotoGP jigsaw has fallen into place, with the report that James Toseland will definitely be riding a Yamaha in MotoGP in 2008, according to Dutch racing site Racesport.nl. No details as yet, but this leads us to speculate that Toseland will be riding the Tech 3 Yamaha, presumably on Michelins and with very heavy factory support, or possibly as a team mate to Jorge Lorenzo.
C mon Toseland:clap::clap::clap:

Confirmation. (http://www.motogp.com/en/motogp/motogp_news.htm?menu=news&news_id=20588&championship_id=3§ion=1)
Gutted its only with Tech 3 though. Looks like at least one season at the back of the pack for him :(
Tech 3 are moving from Dunlop to Michelin.
The 2 Yamaha teams will line up as follows;
Factory Yamaha
Valentino Rossi
Jorge Lorenzo
Satellite Yamaha
Colin Edwards
James Toseland
I'm hoping even more now though that I get paddock passes as guests of the Tech 3 team for Donington again next year!!!
BigDonWizzle 02-08-2007, 15:59 so how else is with who?
Ducati
stoner melandri
Kawasaki
Hopper maybe 3 bikes r d p (i think)
Suzuki
vermulan
WhiteHawk 02-08-2007, 18:14 Both Ducati seats are taken but theres talk of them having a 3rd one.
Hopper at Kawasaki, 2 seats spare, the talk is RDP, West, Capirossi so one of those will be looking for another job.
One spare seat at Suzuki, Capirossi has also been linked with that. Pedrosa has also reportedly been talking to Suzuki.
According to the MotoGP site, there are 12 riders who don't know where they'll be next season! It also says that Edwards & Barros are awaiting decision. I thought Edwards had already signed for Tech 3?!
fredsredhat 02-08-2007, 20:36 what has toseland done??!!!!!! He's have been better off staying in WSB unless he is on a proper factory bike. the only hope we can have is if they ditch the Dunlops. I really cant see him doing anything other than a top 5 now and again. He should be on Elias' honda. At least that's capable of winning races.
classicfan 03-08-2007, 09:11 Have to disagree fredsredhat, you have to admit it's a refreshing change to hear of someone making a move not motivated by immediate prospects of the big money Honda were willing to pay him to stay another year in WSB, and JT has the ability to challenge on skill and ability. The package will not be far off what Rossi and Lorenzo get, and he needs to move as he's 25 now with nothing left to prove in WSB, and the younger you are the better nowadays, look at Stoner!

i have to agree with u classic fan + it says he will get strong factory support, and maybe going on Michelin's it could be a good ride for him
WhiteHawk 03-08-2007, 11:11 I'm surprised Toseland has moved to a team where he hasn't got much of a chance of winning the championship. I think the Tech 3 bike will be better with them moving to Michelin and and they're going to be a full factory bike but I still don't think they'll be there at the top.
I think JT has just decided that this is his only chance to get into MotoGP and the only way he's going to get a big ride is if he proves himself on one of the lesser bikes first. Give it a couple of years and you never know, we might see him winning the title.....
I just hope Tech 3 can come up with a good enough bike to be in at least the top 10.
fredsredhat 03-08-2007, 18:16 Is it confirmed what tyres they're running for JT? Don't forget all they hype last yr when Ellison was on the Tech 3 "the same Yamaha as Rossi"
WhiteHawk 04-08-2007, 09:46 Not sure if its definite but it does seem that Tech 3 will be running on Michelins next year.

would have liked to see him on a Ninja
fredsredhat 18-08-2007, 17:02 What about Guintoli at Brno!!! He's the man of the weekend so far (sat)
WhiteHawk 22-08-2007, 19:00 Anyone see this horrible accident on Sunday?
Ouch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I0nD8Amtf4)
fredsredhat 23-08-2007, 20:31 didnt see that crash live. he wasn't moving at all from the moment of impact. see how his bike fishtailed under the braking when he came out of the dust! Hope he's ok, im off to find out how he is. We all want good close racing but not for someone to get hurt.
On another note i think the Dr's lost this title this year.....
fredsredhat 23-08-2007, 20:33 Japanese 250 GP rider Taro Sekiguchi has suffered a broken pelvis and two fractured ribs after a high-speed horror crash in this morning’s warm-up session.
The 31-year-old was violently catapulted into the air when he struck Marco Simoncelli’s Gilera machine. Simoncelli had crashed out having run wide onto the kerb in a fast right-hand corner. The Italian’s bike slid into the middle of the track, kicking up a huge dust cloud in the process.
Unsighted by the dust cloud and at full speed, Sekiguchi's Aprilia slammed into Simoncelli’s machine, with the sickening impact launching him in a 360 degree spin before he came to rest over 50 metres from the initial incident.
He was taken by helicopter to hospital in Brno where doctors have confirmed Sekiguchi is conscious with no internal injuries. He should be well enough to be released tomorrow (Monday).
The track was closed for over 40 minutes to clear up debris.
WhiteHawk 24-08-2007, 07:42 It was awful, one of the worst motorbike crashes I've seen.
Rossi's definitely lost his title, he need to win 3 races and Stoner get nothing and even then he'll only be 15 points in front. There no way Stoner is going to finish on low points/out of the points in 3 races.
MuteWitness 24-08-2007, 11:00 Rossi is 10.5 to win the championship and casey stoner is 1.09 on betfair
WhiteHawk 24-08-2007, 12:03 I don't understand decimal odds, what do they mean? If you put £1 on Stoner, you win £1.09 plus your original stake back?
MuteWitness 24-08-2007, 18:28 no you put £1 on stoner and you will get you £1 stake back plus 9p profit :hihi:
WhiteHawk 27-08-2007, 16:48 So it equates to something like 1/10 then?

Warning, not for the squeamish.
On another note, I don't know if anyones interested but at Donington this weekend theres the Renault World Series, its a completely free event, on Saturday and Sunday, there'll be the F1 car going round, loads of racing, a few other things going off on the track, its a really good day out. If any of you want to go, I've got a few spare tickets, I think it'll be too late to request them off the Renault World Series website so if you're interested, let me know.
BigDonWizzle 04-09-2007, 11:34 ye.. another bad crash white,, and the moto gp race was boring.. i have to agree with Colin Edwards saying they need to put them all on similar tyres next year it would make it more exiting in my opinion , last year had a fair few great races...
WhiteHawk 04-09-2007, 12:59 Yeh I agree with that.
They've got to do something. I nearly switched the race off after 10 minutes on Sunday.

fredsredhat 14-09-2007, 21:33 Tamada 2nd quickest? What a run, must be a massive confidence boost. The Dr's been let down so badly this year. on an un-competetive bike with under par tyres. you could say the same last year, dont forget in 2006 he rode half the season with a broken wrist and/or chatter problems and if he didnt have any 1 of the 3 mechanical DNF's he'd have been champion. He should ditch the current team and get on a honda on bridgestones. I'll put a weeks wages he'd win the championship on Melandri's bike......

fredsredhat 20-09-2007, 10:26 A Few facts and figures:
Stoner only needs to finish ahead of Rossi this weekend to become champion.
Rossi has won 51% of the four stroke Moto gp races (49 out of 96)
Ducati have had a podium for the last 12 consecutive races.
Hoffman has left D'antin Ducati and will be replaced by Shinichi Ito
WhiteHawk 20-09-2007, 12:56 I hope Rossi wins this weekend. It would be nice to see Stoner wrap up the title in his home country.

rossi needs to beat pedrosa in my book
fredsredhat 17-10-2007, 19:14 as much as it pains me to say - Well done Stoner. I think Melandri will show Stoner up on the Ducati, for my money Melandri is the better rider. Did anyone see the Eurosport live telemetry? Everyone was super smooth on the throttle openings but Stoner was at full lean on full throttle with no hint of slide. Put him back on a bike with lesser electroncs he'll end up flat on his backside.

ye i think that spot on Fred and I'm hoping next year will be a different story with a lot of riders moving around and the other name bikes having a season behind them to catch up with Ducati. This year in my opinion was purely Ducatis and rightfully so and the year before it was all Honda. I know the Suzuki team feel they have had a great year but with a bit of luck the Yamaha team will have something up there sleeves for the arrival of James toseland and the pressure from Valentino. I had great hopes for Casey stoner last year when he was amazed by just being on the grid with all the other great riders and saying he still had posters of GP riders on his wall. this year towards the end of the year he seems to be more up himself (fair enough he is world champ) but i don't really like to see that in only his second season he should just keep saying "I'm Stoked Dude" and stuff:hihi: Stoner deserves being world champ this year but even the sun shines on a dogs ass some days and next year lets hope it sheffield's own toseland there or there abouts or more realistic The Doctor back on top.

WhiteHawk 15-01-2008, 08:28 £85 for the full weekend plus camping at Donington this year. Man thats expensive.
£49 just for the Sunday!!
EDIT - Make that over £90 for the full weekend. If you book direct through Donington Park theres a quite ridiculous 8% surcharge. Then theres the credit card charge and postage on top of that. Theres normally 6 of us go so it'd work out at £93.05 each.
BigDonWizzle 15-01-2008, 09:57 Its £stupid£££ to do the weekend at donnington or a £70 return ferry with a £30 weekend pass for assen! There's a seat on the back of my bike if you fancy it.
it is expensive compared to wot fred stated last year at assen...why is it that us brits always have to pay more.........
WhiteHawk 15-01-2008, 10:28 £28 for a 3 day pass at Estoril. Unbelievable.
Its not as though the facilities at Donington are even any good. Its an awful circuit!
£100 for Assen is extremely tempting. What about accomodation though? Does it cost any more to camp?

I'm not guaranteed to get them this year but fingers crossed. I got them last year as you know and it got me full access to the paddock then on the Saturday, I got to go into the Tech 3 garage and I was stood in the entrance to the garage, on the pit lane, as all the teams were bringing the bikes out to get them running. I was yards away from Rossi's bike!! Didn't see any of the Tech 3 riders but hopefully I'll get to see Toseland this year.
BigDonWizzle 21-01-2008, 21:21 i remember seeing your pics from last year looked really good...
i was so jealous ,, i would love to get in paddock. closest i got to the rider was the year before last when we ran on circuit right at the end i nearly got knocked over by rossi just after the shuttle bridge. lol crazy really good at the time though

JAMES TOSELAND looking great to me 8th and only his 3rd day on GP bike.... surely he can just keep getting faster and faster
WhiteHawk 25-01-2008, 10:07 Not looking bad at all for JT. Lorenzo is doing well too.
What date is the first race?
BigDonWizzle 25-01-2008, 14:36 next race is...... Qatar - 9 March but dont know the time yet
WhiteHawk 25-01-2008, 15:38 I think it'll be usual European time (about lunch time) with it being a night race.
I thought Qatar was always on a Saturday? 9th is a Sunday.
fredsredhat 26-01-2008, 00:09 £100 for Assen is extremely tempting. What about accomodation though? Does it cost any more to camp?
I cant remember the exact figures but (apart from petrol/food) it was cheaper than doing donnington. Just dont expect any sleep on the campsites.
fredsredhat 26-01-2008, 00:24 I'm booked for Le Mans GP in May. £90 return ferry (with cabin) from Portsmouth to Caern. £45 full weekend GP tickets (all grandstands, secure bike park and free helmet/ leathers park) and £45 each for a week in a guest house that sleeps 11. there's 2 extra GP weekend tickets booked for anyone that needs them - with the idea that there's a B&B next door to where we're staying for any latecomers.

BigDonWizzle 16-02-2008, 19:08 i thought blue then it would have been red white n blue.. british rider n that.. im a bit dissapionted with it
fredsredhat 17-02-2008, 09:52 Toseland's colours are a bit naff. Rossi had 2nd highest top speed, 1km/h faster than stoner's Ducati. Just looked on motogp.com and it's raining in Jerez (9:50am) live testing is on Eurosport at 1:00pm
WhiteHawk 17-02-2008, 11:26 i thought blue then it would have been red white n blue.. british rider n that.. im a bit dissapionted with it

WhiteHawk 18-02-2008, 11:02 I thought the Fiat Yamaha was horrible at first but that grew on me and now I think it looks fantastic. No doubt the same will happen with the Tech 3......

WhiteHawk 20-02-2008, 12:55 Well, I've just requested the time off (3 days) for Donington and its a definite no. I suggested to them that I take a laptop so I can log in remotely and do the tiny bit of work that actually NEEDS to be done on a daily basis but they won't even consider it. Its only 2 bloody days aswell when there'll be no-one at all in the department.
Absolutely gutted.
Never mind though. I've been wanting a new job for a very long time. Perhaps this might give me a push to actually go and get one. Every cloud and all........

On top of all that you might be really badly the day before your requested leave, (as in reeeeeally badly all over the office floor;))
That would be a terrible coincedence.....

It really would be a terrible coincidence if that was to happen. Or I could badly sprain my ankle or something to such an extent that it means me being signed off work.........
WhiteHawk 26-02-2008, 20:11 Heres a good pic of a section of the Qatar track. Must have cost an absolute fortune to floodlight the whole circuit!!
