LONDON, England (Reuters) -- Care International charity says its chief of operations in Iraq has been kidnapped in Baghdad.

A spokeswoman told Reuters on Tuesday that Margaret Hassan, who has been working for the charity in Iraq for more than a decade, was abducted on Tuesday morning, but could give no further details.

These kidnappings are the worst. People genuinely trying to assist the Iraqis and not involved with the occupation or trying to profit from it. Unfortunately the group that got Ken Bigley don't want to see that sort of help. Let's hope its not them that's behind this one.

I heard on the radio today that the charity have either stopped working or have pulled out of Iraq as a result of this woman's kidnapping.

These deranged terrorist groups are lower than low. :mad:

All the non iraqi's from the organisation had left anyway I think. Mrs Hassan is a very brave woman to stay and continue her work after all that has gone on.
Lets all hope this one turns out for the better.
