I don;t know if this is the right forum but I'm planning on going to London this Thursday and wondering what's the best opitions of transport as I'm not really that confident driving long distances.
Are there any offers on with Trains/Coaches etc?
My mates drives to a big Car Park somewhere in Luton (A commute type park and ride kinda thing) then catches the Thameslink into Kings Cross..
A lot of hassle maybe but still easier than navigating round the traffic system in London
I remember seeing an advert once that said it was 2 quid return by coach to London, maybe I read it wrong or there's some small print.
You can't seriously go to london and back by coach for 2 quid can you?!?!
sorry I really can't remember who's advert it was
Hmm, what a pointless post everyone is thinking :(

I go to London and back every Friday from Derby on the train, (the train comes from Sheffield to Derby), costs about £25 if you book early enough or have a railcard but the good thing is it only takes an hour and three quarters to London St Pancras / Kings Cross!
So if you want speed then this is probably the best way.
I guess the cheapest fares might not still be available with it only being a few days in advance but try the following websites
www.midlandmainline.com to go by train
www.nationalexpress.com to go by coach
www.megabus.com to go by bus
If travelling to London by train, it's best to book in advance, at least a week in advance preferably. Also, don't forget the possibility of going via Doncaster. It can be both quicker and cheaper depending on what deals GNER have going at the time.

I just had a break down in london last week. I travelled by national express coach cost me £11 rtn to Victoria St
I choose the fun fare times. Go on the website and when you're choosing your times look out for funfare.
By train if you book 7 days in advance with midland mainline you can get £20 rtn to Kings Cross/St Pancras
By megabus would have been £6.50 rtn for me ifi took the offer, but after reading on this forum what some of the forum members went through i decided to go with National Express!Plus I wasnt familiar with the place the drop off point was! Anyways, not sure if the fare would be the same for you..best check the website..
