Not up to much really. Claims to be the most haunted pub in Sheffield.

Oooooh.

hiya
i go to carbrook quite often my best mate owns it,
been going for years
it has a great atmosphere when you walk in
my mate has put a lot of work into giving people what they want and to be
honest he does a wicked and busy karaoke on a sunday night.

and fridays and saturdays are usually very busy
and there is a lot of history behind the pub which attracts a lot of visitors
why not try marks food he is a great chef

Yeah, we used to go quite often on a Sunday night, Karaokes a good night. Not been in a while. Yeah, I know MArk and Phil, never had food, but my mate has a part time job there in the kitchen and she says it's good food.

I wondered about the food too? What sort of stuff do they do? Is it good?

The wooden panelled interior is grade 2* listed, maybe the whole building is, not sure about that.

the pub is listed grade 2 externally and the oak room and main bedroom up stairs. the pub is linked with oliver cromwell and colonell john bright who owned most of attercliffe back in the civil war days of 1644. i think yr is right
the oak room cieling is ornate plaster design and original i should know i spent 3 weeks painting the bloody thing lol :)
and as for a tacky beer garden "how very dare you" i have spent many a pleasant hour helping phil turn bare land into a great little oasis where during the summer you cant get a seat outside because people come from all over to see the pub.
when phil took it on yrs ago the centre room was a disgrace artexed walls that had gone yellow through lack of decorating,
i cant sit here and keep quiet when someone puts down what is a very special pub which is run by someone i have known for 20 yrs and has put his heart and soul into making it what it is today,

so there :)

and if you go you must try marks smothered chicken it is to die for :)

im a bit sceptic when it comes to ghosts but i did have one experience.

me and mark made a cuppa after the pub was closed after sunday lunch time
( about an hour)
walked from the kitchen through pool room and into main room to watch end of eastenders. been sat a while and we heard something in the pool room ( ball going through the pool table workings.
when we looked the white ball which was on the top cushion was now in the ball shoot.
no way it could have got there without help and being as no one else was in pub, well come to your own conclusions i have never been able to come to one

Hiya Andy!

I work at the carbrook, i have been there for 3 years, I work Friday and Sunday nights (I am the blonde barmaid if anyone has been down lately)

I had a spooky experience about 3 weeks ago, we had all finished and the customers had all gone. We were sat chatting, I had my back to the bar, and I heard a noise which sounded like someone putting their empty glass on the bar, the 2 other people who were there also heard it. Also had an empty bottle fall off the bar and smash when I was at the other end of the bar quite a while ago.
