A friend of mine was thinking of getting married there, it's not you is it? Went for a meal at Tankersley Manor a couple of months back with Ma & Pa and the grounds are absolutley gorgeous, inside is lovely too! Have you been for a look round? A.xx Tanya T 1 02-03-2007, 13:10 Hi Amber/Tanya/Gi Jane (cant make my mind up these days) Thank you for your useful information, much appreciated! Unfortunately i dont have ginger locks but would love to have them as i know you would too!!!! especially the tan brown look! :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: xx D_Money 03-03-2007, 13:50 don't get married there, it is a bit tacky think of something more original Wotwosit 04-03-2007, 20:43 It's not exciting - OK for corporate functions but nowt special. Best to go and look for yourself. RED ALERT 05-03-2007, 02:46 went to my sister in laws wedding there, thought it was a bit cramped for the meal and not a very big dancefloor for later on.food and service was fine but if a lot of guests i would go for somewhere bigger.also for the poor smokers its a long way out to the front for a crafty fag.:P Tanya T 1 05-03-2007, 11:07 don't get married there, it is a bit tacky think of something more original What would you suggest to be more original, any ideas? Rakane 19-01-2009, 11:52 Hi, Has any-one got any more recent optinions of Tankersley Manor, we looked at their bigger suite and barn for the ceremony, but have heard some negitive comments with regards to the food and service. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Rachel rachett 19-01-2009, 12:55 What would you suggest to be more original, any ideas? My friends got married at Whitely Hall, the food was good and the set up was really nice and you can stay there too. I'd marry there!! scottf 19-01-2009, 13:17 I have been to a wedding there and everything was fine, nothingspecial if im honest comparted so some of the local venues but it was a nice day and everything happened when it should. kittylitter 19-01-2009, 16:08 Don't do it - Whitley Hall is ten times nicer and cheaper - know someone who works functions at the Manor and even told me to tell my brother not to book there so taking that as a fair recommendation he's going to Whitley Hall instead  GQsm 21-01-2009, 01:31 Went to a decent wedding there but wasn't impressed with the food. It should have been better for the price the poor bride and groom had to splash out. Rakane 23-01-2009, 13:33 Thank-you for your feedback! We went to Whitley Hall, but the room we were shown seemed a funny shape so some people would be hidden away and I also wasnt keen on the whole day happens in one room and they keep kicking you out to "re-deocrate" it between sections of the day. Any other ideas for nice venues? ah1975 23-01-2009, 13:45 We had a civil wedding at Tankersley Manor in 2005, imo it was great, the service, food was gorgeous, master of ceremonies was a member of their staff & he was available for us from early morning until the last guest left, he even nipped off to get me plasters for blistered feet! We had the smaller of the 2 rooms 80 for the day & 150 for the evening, it didn't feel cramped at all, it was a hot day when we got married so we split ourselves between the manor suite & the terrace outside, I wouldn't change a thing about the day. My sister got married a few years earlier at Whitley hall, cost a hell of a lot more, very cramped for the sit down meal, food was ok nothing special but they do have fab grounds for your pics. rachett 23-01-2009, 14:03 Thank-you for your feedback! Any other ideas for nice venues? That never happened to my friends wedding, it went really well and all the decor was already done why the need to change it? And the room they got married it was fine NEWYORKDELI 23-01-2009, 14:31 Just a quick post to say if you need a buffet for your wedding then please bear New York Deli in walkley in mind If you need any more info please pm or call me 07733200406 Thanks Lee@New York Deli BoroughGal 23-01-2009, 15:10 Thread moved - you may get more responses in this section. :) Rakane 23-01-2009, 15:18 That never happened to my friends wedding, it went really well and all the decor was already done why the need to change it? And the room they got married it was fine By re-decorate I mean they moved you out of the room while the re-laid it for the wedding breakfast and then again for the evening. The lady showing us round said we could use the main bar but it would be full of hotel guests, and when we looked it wasnt very big for about 100 people. Have eaten there before and the food was lovely, it was top of my list until we went for this tour. Gonna go to the open day for a second look though. rachett 23-01-2009, 16:14 None of that happened at this one, she got 3rooms all together - the wedding reception room, the dining room where the meal was and the bar and the thing is you don't stay in one room anyway because everyones moving about and you sure will be. I cant remember if there was any guests from the hotel in there but im so you can ask if you can use it for the occassion |
