As a fan of Parkinson I am still watching him now he has moved to ITV even though I feel that the show is not as good as it was.

Many of his guests have been on before so it is not that the guests are poorer but his style seems much weaker than when he was on the beeb.

His chat is superficial and are those close, close ups really necessary? The ads are also a pain.

He talked to Jeremy Clarkson for about 20 mins in the last prog about sod all and the follow on with Eddy Izzard and Donny Osmond was equally unenlightening. Is it time he hung up his journalistic hat?

I would say yes he should, I recently saw an old episode on UK Gold.

It had the adverts (as UK Gold does), however his interviewing seemed much better.

Jonathan Ross is much better

The problem is'nt with Parkinson, he continues to be the best in the business.
Its the guests of today as theres no longer any big hitters out there.
All the top Hollywood stars, sports personalitys and singers are all but gone and the new and up and coming "stars" just don't have the finness.
Cagney, Grant, Astaire and hundreds more are all dead so thats what wrong with the show today.
I hear theres a waiting list as long as the Channel tunnel to get on his programme and yet he still has the same faces making an appearance.

I have to admit, his show did seem better on the BBC.

Although Ross does have talent I personally get annoyed at his constant over the top 'sucking up' to guests.

Ross is far better than Parky. Jonathan Ross can make even the most boring guests funny, whereas i can easily fall asleep sometimes watching Parky.
