An old workmate used to tell me about the Crazy Daisy, I can recall the name of it, but where in Sheffield was it?

Ended up in the daisy on my stag night. Cant remember too much about that night! I can remember going straight to away matches in Plymouth , Brighton and Exeter in the back of an transit van with no seats after nights round the Wicker and a session in the Daisy. Happy times.

Remember when it shut and they re-opended it, all spruced up, and called the Geisha bar if i remember correctly.
Carsupplier; the daisy was on the High Street, same side as the cathedral, downstairs in one of the buildings

high street, about halfway down on the left hand side as you walk down
or thats where i remmeber it from the early 80s anyway......near where there was a record shop inside an archway.
was also just above where virgin records used to be.

lol sorry a bit vague, i can picture it but cant explain very well......now record shops thats a different story :P

I used to go at the weekends with all my mates,I remember Johnny Lockwood spewing up at the side of the bandit when he had supped a few too many Pernods, but it was great us all walking down the Moor to get home to Heeley,no trouble at all, cannot say that today.

glad you all remember. i used to live in there. it was where human league was came from. i remeber having to come out to catch the 1.30am 75 bus. it used to be packed, all drunk in flares, big collars and 7inch heals. town was always full in them days. if you go now, i am tonight, you might see a few on west street but the rest is **** poor. other night clubs i used to go in were the Tivoli Bar, downstairs in the Marples and of course the Penthouse, when i was too young to get served anywhere else! others were the Genevieve, The Roxy ( a bit later ) The Merry England, under the Black Swan I think. Josephines ( bit posh tho ) Tur Ups and Romeo and Juliets. Bloody hell those were the days!

That was also the first nightclub I ever went in.Actually I was still at school when I went.It was great.I was very into Bowie , and the dj there, while looking very boring and conservative actually had quite good taste in music.Used to dance away to Bowie on the raised dance floor!
My mate, mandy got barred once, and so came in the week after in a curly wig, and they let her in and we all cheered!!Happy days.
Oh, I've just remembered, when I was at work, the daisy was still going strong, and at Christmas, all the nightclubs used to open up at dinner times for office and work parties and stuff, but anyone could go in.Remember going back to work three sheets and stinking of pernod!!!

fantastic nights in the daisy, saturday afternoons were brill too. It was frequented by all the freaky dressers of the day, I suppose it was just before or around the punk explosion 76/77, this is where all the normal folks went just to gawk at all the 'freaks' as we called them. The atmosphere in there was always buzzing, fantastic.

I used to go in the Daisy around 76/77 - what a lot of memories this is bringing back. Anyone remember Mick Ledwidge (not sure of spelling) - big lad, used to be a bouncer there? A bit rough round the edges, but used to look after me as I was his mate's kid sister :) I always remember pouring a drink over someone who had offended me, and then Mick having to escort me home because they wanted to beat me up for it - he did tell me off! He died very young, sadly :(

I used to wear a shirt and tie there - can't quite remember why now

I was skint so used to make one orange juice last all night, (still managed to enjoy myself without alcohol), or if I was richer I used to ask for a creme de menthe with lemonade - not because it was nice, but because it was unusual then to have a bright green drink, and boys used to talk to me to ask what it was - lol.
And then catching the late night 82 bus home. Oh to be young again.

I worked there at the time of David Jamieson - it was such a laugh - all the bar staff were p..... up on a regular basis. We were not supposed to drink behind the bar but no one took a blind bit of notice of him - I remember one night in particular being called to the office and I was finding it difficult to stand up straight, he said, I have been told that you have been drinking, is this true - I said, yes it is Dave I am sorry but I have only had the one - he said for being honest get out and don't do it again! He was scary at times tho.

Oh my- what memories- they did great cheese omelette and chips at lunchtime. My mum went once to check it out as I was always talking about it!
Saturday lunchtime in there was great- I discovered Bob marley and reggae in there (not literally!), and it was hot when punk came to Sheffield.
Stopped going when it became geisha- never the same- started going to the Limit on west street instead
