Flossy-B 01-03-2007, 15:52 what about the music? what type is it? *Turbo* 01-03-2007, 15:53 i *think* its something like an alternative 80's night with some goth music or something. A bit like Syn on a saturday at Corp. But dont hold me to that, i've never been but know someone who has and cant remember what she said!! Sorry, bit of a useless post really:roll: Flossy-B 01-03-2007, 15:55 i *think* its something like an alternative 80's night with some goth music or something. A bit like Syn on a saturday at Corp. Sorry, bit of a useless post really:roll: lol.... thanks anyway :hihi: Pauline BHG 01-03-2007, 22:27 No it's not like Syn or goth lol. It plays 70s & 80s pop, indie, disco, general cheese and bootlegs/mash ups. It has a VERY mixed crowd - you can dress up to the nines or go in a t-shirt and jeans (great excuse for dressing up like a mad'un though heheh). There are normally 2 or 3 bands/acts on, normally indie or synthpop bands, and always a bit quirky.... carcrash 01-03-2007, 22:33 It's a good laugh and usually very messy jofo80 02-03-2007, 08:37 I went once and though i generally liked the music and laid-back atmosphere, I was shocked at the amount of pretentious people in there. Too many 'cool' people who don't give the time of day to those not part of the 'cool' posse. Let me stress: coolness is not what clothes you where, what haircut you have or how many stripes you have on your cardigan/jumper/dress. Top club night in this city for the last 7 years is The Tuesday Club. Great mix of music, laid-back and diverse clientele. Love it MissK 02-03-2007, 10:26 your best going down to DQ when it's "THREADS" DanSumption 11-05-2007, 12:10 Have a look at my photos from March's Razor Stiletto - this is what Razor Stiletto's like (http://danshotme.com/galleries/2007-03-03_Razor_Stiletto/)! (I have more photos from last December's bash which will go online at some point). I urge you to go, whatever you're like and whatever you like, it's one of those things in life that just has to be experienced at least once. Musically it's completely diverse - everything from electropop to punk to cheese to sea-shanties. They usually have a cabaret act on as well. And although there may be a lot of "cool" people there, if you make the effort to get to know them, you will find they are anything but pretentious. It is incredibly laid-back, and a place where absolutely anyone can be themselves, whether, as Pauline says, you turn up in t-shirt and jeans, dinner suit & tie, achingly cool fashion victim attire, or (as in one of my photos) dressed as a sperm in a head-to-toe grey slightly Mr Bean-esque and far-too-revealing lycra bodystocking. |
