first time got one offline i usually go post office so im not too sure:confused:
They won't care about a few days. In the unlikely event that you get stopped (virtually no chance) then they will either have a record at the DVLC or you will just have to produce one.

Bottom line is it's illegal to drive without displaying a valid tax disc.
But you're unlikely to find a copper who can be bothered to do the paperwork if a quick call to the DVLA says it is in the post
£200 fine failure to display current road tax

I have a company car and they are nortorious for sending out the tax disc late, I often have to drive it for about a week showing an out of date disc while I wait for them to get their act in gear!

I ordered my last Thursday night and it arrived in the Saturday morning post. Quick and painless, I'll certainly buy online again.
If youve taxed online they is something you can print off to prove that youve done it.

Didn't know you could get it online
But I'm sure its still an offence to not display one, even if you can prove you've bought it

It is ... daughter and partner were driving along and suddenly a passing copcar spun round, on went the siren and lights and pulled them over. The reason? Not showing a valid tax disc. Daughter burst out laughing in relief and showed the officer she was actually putting the new disc into the holder as they were speaking. They'd just come back from holiday and been to PO to renew.
He was very shirty with her and said it was no laughing matter as the offence they were being pulled for was not displaying a valid disc on the windscreen. Anyway he let them off with it in the end but not until he'd put them through 20 minutes putting the fear of God into them, inspecting of documents, checking the car over etc etc. :(
