hi,

got a problem with my printer. the colour ran out so i replaced the cartridge (which i have done 15 times before) and then it has stopped working. both the green and red lights are flashing. i cant get the thing that holds the cartridges back in view to put it in properly (if this is the problem) and cant seem to take the casing off. there are 3 little latches at the back but the paper holding tray seems to get in the way of it coming off.. grrrr!.. hoping there is something simple im missing.

any1 had this problem before? is it time to replace? it has been a good printer for me and was only £35 new.. cartridges are the real cost more than the printer.... just wondering if it can be saved.

the error messege is something like `parts in your printer have reached the end of there serviceable life'

help! i have a few fings i really wanted to print out :(

I'm certainly no expert on this but it's possible the caddy for the ink cartridges has jolted so that the little plastic connector strip in the back has come out of its housing so the sensors aren't registering...

If you still have it under warranty, now's the time to call Epson and ask for help...

Also, as you're not far away, if you really need some stuff printing off, drop me a PM if you can make it round before 6:30pm tomorrow and I'll print off what you need here...

Just pop it on a floppy or a memory stick and you can bring it round... (I'm based in Gleadless).

I had this too on the same model of printer.

If you've still got it try reinstalling it with the CD-ROM it came with.

Mine just seem to forget how to let you replace cartridges and doing that kinda helped it remember.

Just my (extremely technical, of course) suggestion!

thanks a lot for the comments.

ive bought another printer just for the sake of it. i will fiddle with the broken one at another time and sell it on if possible.

i will have a look around for the installation disc and give it a whirl.. fanks

and fanks for the printing offer...but its nothing THAT important. but its nice of you to offer. cheers
