Come on, Sheffield, let's hear from those who knew this great man who has sadly just passed away.

For me he will always be the man who gave us the Anvil Cinema, but in a former life he was one of the greatest writers on Black American music and even invented the term 'Northern Soul', by common assent.

There must be plenty of people on this board with a connection or a story to tell
