I'll be visiting from Germany at the end of the month and want to introduce my poor deprived children to some British culture. They'd never heard of Guy Fawkes until I talked about him the other day and have never been to a November 5th fireworks display. Can anyone recommend an official display suitable for youngish children?

There's normally a huge one called After Dark at Don Valley each year but you do have to pay to get in. One I go to & can recommend is The Travellers Rest just off Jn35 of M1. Big Bonfire & fireworks & firebreathers! It's free but does get very busy.

Thanks.

I've not heard anything about a display at Don Valley this year but on Radio Hallam they are advertising the Sheffield Wednesday football ground. News (http://www.swfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/0,,10304~578740,00.html?)

I'm not sure of any other displays. Sheffield City Council are super crap at anything to do with festivities. Bunch of bureucratic robots.

We will have our own Guy Fawkes and the local fat councillors better watch out.

I have not been before but everyone I have spoken to says that the After Dark event next to Arena is brilliant..

the Sheffield Weds links won't work unless sign up and pay up.

is there a firework display at SWFC?

or can anyone recommend a pub firework display in S6?

some thing suitable to take a 9 yr old to, ideally on bus or tram route ( as it's impossible to get a taxi on Bonfire night).

thanks

does anyone know how much it will cost to go to the Don Valley one, or if there are any in the S35 area, around High Green.
