I really thought it was going to be a 6-0 demolition after the opening 5 minutes.

Anyone notice the Reading fans chanting "we support our local team"? Class.

I have to say, as a complete impartial, that Readings comeback was amazing, but so was UTDs defence. Great game.

Yes, new chant that.
I preferred the "Come to see United!, you've only come to see United!!"

No, old chant.

But well founded.

Well founded based on what? Where, exactly, are the geographical details of the 4,000 (or however many?) United supporters who were there last night?

Yawn. To get one of those tickets, you have to have been a season ticket holder - most of those were in the "Loyalty Ballot" where you have to have applied for every away game since 2003.

Yes, some may come from London, but at least they are loyal.

Away grounds in provincial towns are full of fans who attend to boo ronaldo when United are in town, but strangely dont turn up for the rest of the season.
Hmm.

Garth Crooks was bright enough to realise that Federici won't play in the next game!

Ha ha. I don’t blame him at all.

The commentary for the first fifteen really annoyed me after watching it the next day. Talk about brown nose United!

Fair play, but I don't think that's what they were getting at. I know a few Man Utd season ticket holders who aren't from Manchester and have no reason to support them other than 'I saw them on tv'.

How many fans do Man Utd have, and of those, how many have actually been to Manchester, let alone Old Trafford?

Not exactly a new point, but I've never been able to fathom why some people can't support their local team, big or small.

I think applying that rule for clubs like Liverpool or United just doesnt fit.
Both clubs have always been "national" sides, even before recent success.

I think the roots lie in the history of the two cities, in terms of immigration from overseas etc.

P.S For the record, United dont even play in Manchester, as City fans are so fond of reminding us.
