I live in handsworth. Went to handsworth grange between '88 and '92.

I live in Handsworth. It's where my roots are. Otherwise I guess it's where most people drive thru to get to somewhere else. Is there a restaurant, any shops selling anything remotely interesting? No just a collection of takeaways and an Asda which brings people poaring in and clogging up the road. Is that all people do on Sundays, wander round Asda spending?

That's all Handsworth is, an Asda and some mixed housing. There are plans to build 300 more homes at the back of Halesworth Road and the Open Cast mine site is being developed. Are Boing still coming or has terrorism put paid to that one?

Could be that we merge into Catcliffe and Treeton and become one big splodge!

i bought a house in handsworth this summer and we love it here. our neighbours are very friendly and we managed to find a quiet part so we can't hear the road

if you're community minded, the handsworth community forum does a smashing job of trying to make things better for people ... get involved!!

also, i agree about asda, its riddiculous ... wandering around a supermarket is NOT leisure its a headache!!

Yes Boeing are already here, take a trip down Highfield Spring, heading toward Big W and Morrisons, where the new roundabout is, you will see a new Industrial unit with a road leading to it, well that is where Boeing is. Not sure how many people work there or what goes on there, but only seen a few cars parked out side so far.

i lived in handsworth from 68 to 75 and went to handsworth infant school then athelstan junior...i still spend alot of time in the area as its where one of my window cleaning rounds is situated.i'd like to move back there some day.

Yes and no, I went to Ballifield Primary but went to Aston Comprehensive.

As for the Asda, it's not just Sundays, it's Saturdays as well :evil:
If you're coming off the Parkway from town it's a nightmare as people queue all the way around to get in to Asda. I don't how they can be bothered.
