Anyone got priority from sheffield council for re-housing in the past? Just wondered how long after your priority was awarded you were given a house?

View Full Version : Housing Priority - how long did you wait LJB23 27-02-2007, 12:46 Anyone got priority from sheffield council for re-housing in the past? Just wondered how long after your priority was awarded you were given a house? denise2436 27-02-2007, 22:51 You still have to bid every week, it depends on where you bid for as how long it takes to get a property. I know two people that have priority; one has been bidding since Dec 06 and has just accepted a house today. The other has been bidding since end of Nov 06 and still has not got anything. Denise LJB23 05-03-2007, 08:06 I got priority 9th November 06 and still nothing. dondon39 05-03-2007, 08:18 Are you bidding on a high demand area? my friend has also been waiting 2 month & still nothing, i think they must have alot of people with priority, i was awarded it last week too. LJB23 05-03-2007, 08:23 I have been granted permission to stay in the shirecliffe, Longley and Southey area so I know I am more restricted. I was originally given North Sheffield. But still when I was bidding for all of the north, nothing. I'm in a one bed flat with my partner and son and our second child due in 9 weeks, I'm hoping they move us ASAP but I won't hold my breath! dondon39 05-03-2007, 08:33 My friend has the same problem, shes stuck in a high rise 10th floor with a partner & baby, its stupid!!!:( the lifts are always broke theres people (dodgy ones) hanging about round the lifts & stairs. I'm lucky really as im only wanting to down size from a 3 bed to a 2. Hope you get sorted soon & hopefully before the new baby arrives:) LJB23 05-03-2007, 08:37 Yeah me too. Don't know where the new baby will go should we still be there, but the council don't see that as their problem. Even my doctor, health visitor and local councillor are involved but still nothing. I understand there are only so many houses and so many people can have them but still it's bad. |
