View Full Version : WWE Wrestlemania McMahon Vs Trump - who's going to win?
So yeah, the time is almost upon us, WWE Wrestlemania 23 LIVE from Detroit, Michigan USA on April 1st! And one of the matches signed is Billionaire WWE Owner Vince McMahon versus fellow Billionaire tycoon Donald Trump in a "Hair versus Hair" match.. OK it won't actually be them fighting, it'll be McMahon's representitive, Umaga versus Trump's rumoured representitive the ECW Champion Bobby Lashley.
Who do you think will win this match? Do you even care?
Please do NOT flame or insult me about wrestling, I am NOT gay, I do NOT watch wrestling to see "sweaty men hugging each other".. Anyone who does start will be reported to the Mods who will deal with you accordingly.
mr craig 26-02-2007, 18:09 I think this should have been posted in entertainment chat as this is a SPORTS forum.
AtticusFinch 26-02-2007, 18:17 I think it has to be Donald Trump who wins. I can't see him signing up for a Wrestlemania match where he gets his head shaved. I was expecting Vince to choose Shane McMahon as his representative, although I guess that Umaga makes more sense.
There also aren't any guarantees that Trump will choose Lashley for his representative (although I've heard that too). Maybe he'll choose The Great Khali and they'll have a "Monster vs Monster" match, although I hope not because Khali is awful.
Yeah will be Lashley and he will win. Easy.
_Kirsty_ 26-02-2007, 19:48 I think Trump will blow McMahon away :hihi:

Um, wrestling is a sport.. But if you feel so strongly, report teh OP and the Mods might move it.
sufc_tom 28-02-2007, 10:03 Please do NOT flame or insult me about wrestling, I am NOT gay
Please elaborate.
You don't want to be insulted for liking a phoney choreographed drama yet you feel your justifying this hobby of yours and maintaining masculanity by saying your not homosexual?
Um, wrestling is a sport.. But if you feel so strongly, report teh OP and the Mods might move it.
It's a sport? Only one I know of where the outcome's decided before the match......
fox20thc 28-02-2007, 10:21 Actually halibut, having spoken to some of the older wrestlers. I did challenge them and said its all a fix, you decide who's going to win before you start.
His response was that yes they do pre plan matches and certain 'moves' to entertain the crowds but when it comes to these 'championship' ones they do actually want to win, (bit of dressing room bravado me thinks) and they do go out with the intention of beating the opponent.
That said this match is farcical to the extreme, but I'm sure my 12 yr old will love the spectacle.

But nonetheless, its planned :hihi:

From what I gleaned not the outcome.
From what I gleaned not the outcome.
Rubbish. If any wrestler was seriously trying to win a match, he'd just hit the other guy PROPERLY, break his jaw, and put an end to it in one second flat.
It's not a sport, it's a soap opera; one that, admittedly, is a damn sight more fun than Eastenders because you get to watch people pretending to knock seven shades out of each other. People watch Eastenders despite knowing that everything that will happen is fixed in advance; what's important is that THEY don't know what will happen, not that NOBODY does. Same with wrestling; when two guys go at it for the Interconinental Championship or whatever lunacy they've named some trophy, *I* don't know who's going to win. Doesn't matter to me that *they* know, it's still fun to watch. But calling it a sport is blatantly silly.
fox20thc 28-02-2007, 10:55 I never called it a sport :|
However to bang on about this minor point is just silly.

Well then you shouldn't have started the ball rolling with it ;)

To be fair, she didn't start it. I was picking up on her point and then expanding my argument to cover the whole shebang.
Besides, there is no ball. It's not a sport, remember? :P
It was Rich who said that wrestling was a sport.......
fox20thc 28-02-2007, 11:10 Yay thats right. All I said is I challenged said wrestlers (and they are not at all scary) and told them I thought it was a fix.
sufc_tom 28-02-2007, 11:13 My bad - I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Apologies Yummy Mum...errr..Fox :)
Preacher Man 28-02-2007, 11:15 i watched the one where you have to stay in the ring and theres about 40 of them on my mates birthday, i was sceptical at first but it was good entertainment! not a sport but a good laugh..
It was Rich who said that wrestling was a sport.......

LOL, this is the post of the thread, well hasn`t trump got a wig on, if not it looks like one, so the looser shaves his hair, or is it looser shaves his wig off.
plekhanov 04-03-2007, 18:31 Um, wrestling is a sport..
Even those who actually organise WWE call it 'sports entertainment' rather than a sport.
Did anyone see the lad Gethin from Blue Peter having a go at the real variety on telvision recently?
Very impressive, very real. Gave a good account of himself too.
NEKRO138 05-03-2007, 09:37 I do NOT watch wrestling to see "sweaty men hugging each other"..
Yes, but that's what it is. So what do you watch it for?

Wrestling fans usually make the point that wrestling is pre-determined rather than "fake". Yes the results are decided in advance. Nobody would deny this. Much of the action is actually "real" though.
Steel chair shots are not faked. Wrestlers will take a full-force chair shot to the head, which will often result in them being genuinely cut open. The rest of the time wrestlers use a technique called "blading" where they carry small razor blades in their boots and then discretely cut themselves on the forehead just below the hairline after a heavy blow/landing.
Heavy impacts (known as "bumps") are also not faked. There isn't a way of faking someone being thrown through a table outside the ring - it hurts a lot. Some wrestlers will take crazy bumps in an effort to entertain the crowd. There is also a genuine risk of injury if moves go wrong. At Summerslam 1997 Stone Cold Steve Austin was dropped on his own head after a botched piledriver and this led to recurring neck problems which eventually caused him to retire from in-ring action. At Wrestlemania 19 Brock Lesnar messed up a shooting star press (somersault off the top rope) and landed on his own head. If his neck muscles weren't so strong he'd probably have killed himself. In January Triple H ripped his right quadricep off the bone, after doing the exact same thing 6 years earlier.
Wrestling is all about the suspension of disbelief, in which case the pre-determined outcome is irrelevant. It's exactly the same as going to the cinema - you don't sit there on the front row and shout "That's not Neo, it's Keanu Reeves, and there are cameras and microphones just out of shot!"
:)

 What you mean other than fox20thc who on the previous page claimed 'From what I gleaned not the outcome. (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showpost.php?p=1999300&postcount=11)' the 'older wrestlers' fox20thc quoted in the post you were responding (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showpost.php?p=1999269&postcount=9) to, and of course Rich who started all this by making a WWE related post in the 'Sports' instead of the more appropriate 'entertainment' forum?

Of course WWE 'wrestlers' do some pretty spectacular and physically demanding and dangerous stunts but that's what they are stunts and those that do them are stunt not sports men

It's not the same thing at all, pointing out to someone on an internet forum that WWE is not a sport is 'exactly the same' as pointing out to some hypothetical delusional idiot that the Matrix is a piece of fictional entertainment not a documentary and nothing like actually interrupting a film screening at the cinema, which would of course be an appallingly rude thing to do.
fox20thc 05-03-2007, 16:15 for the record I NEVER said I was a wrestling fan.. :suspect:
I watch it weekly - its very good entertainment.
Sure, the outcome is already pre-determined but I have to say its like a soap opera but with violence
crazybabe 05-03-2007, 16:59 Its great fun to watch, i watch it for the entertainment an the hype, my kids do too
rustybum 11-03-2007, 04:57 got to agree about wrestling being like a soap opera, its just like eastenders but less violent.:hihi: it does'nt matter what you call it really it's just harmless fun. i've watched it all my life and its never done me any harm :loopy: :hihi: :help:
as the above few posts have said, its a good laugh to watch
watching people like rey mysterio can be very entertaining with some of the things he does

In January Triple H ripped his right quadricep off the bone, after doing the exact same thing 6 years earlier.
Or maybe he is having "time out" to spend some time with his missus & baby and this is the story line that is being used to cover his absence?

No this one is a legit injury. If you watch the NYR match you can see that by the way his leg crumples under him. In 2005 he did take 4-5 months after Bad Blood to learn more about the corporate side of WWE and that was explained by him having been beaten up so badly in a Hell in a Cell match with Batista. Regular wrestling fans can usually tell what's real and what's kayfabe, and in this case it's an actual injury.
fox20thc 02-04-2007, 08:39 Well I'm having a lovely peaceful morning. As its the school holidays my boys camped out in the living room last night to watch the wrestling which was live at stupid o'clock.
Subsequently they are both now, snoring their heads off in bed and will no doubt be there for some time to come.
RESULT
