Layer of ham.
Then sliced cucumber.
Spread lots of mayo over ham and cucumber.
Next sliced cheese, I use mature chedar. Slice this as thick or as thin as you like.
Add slices of tomato.
Top it off with lettuce, plenty of it.
If it's done this way the bread dosn't go soggy!!

Make sure it's good bread or you are wasting your time.

Times 2

cos I'm a pig.

Right... I'm halfway through a 'New Yorker' which I just bought from Troffs on West St.
All I can say is 'Wow! - what a sandwich!'
I've just whipped my ruler out and it stands just over 3 inches high!! (that's about 9cms for you younger viewers).

Here's how you build one.....

Start with a thick slice of granary bread and spread it with some marge.
Next add a layer of sliced gerkin and generously top that with some 'Frenches' mustard. On top of that add a layer of pastrami and on top of that a layer of turkey.
Add a second slice of thick granary (unbuttered) and onto that slap a big dollop of mayo and spread it around.
Now add a big handful of grated cheese and top that with onion, lettuce, tomato and cucumber.
Finally complete the construction with a third piece of thickly sliced granary bread.

Help! Can someone help me outta this chair.....?

Sounds nice, I am in Stoke on Trent at the minute and I have just had their local speciality........and it was really very good.

Oatcakes with cheese and bacon.

For those who have never heard of them, oatcakes are basically large pancakes, add a couple of pieces of bacon and then top with grated cheese, and then roll it up into a wrap.
£1.30 for 2 bargain

Chunky bits of chicken, still warm. Loads of mayo mixed with some pesto. A few basil leaves. Really fresh, thickly cut granary bread.

Bring it on.

Not exactly a sandwich but the All Day Breakfast I had in the dutch pancake bar at Orchard Square on Friday was brill. The fried eggs are perfect and the yolk oozes all over the pancake in a most fantastic way

Warm bagette with just chicken.

Also like bacon letuce and tomato.

And banana squished on nice bread, occasionally sprinkle sugar on (which is bad) just to give it a bit of crunch.

But saying that i am not a big sandwich person.
