I'm halfway through a 'New Yorker' which I just bought from Troffs on West St. All I can say is 'Wow! - what a sandwich!' I've just whipped my ruler out and it stands just over 3 inches high!! (that's about 9cms for you younger viewers). Here's how you build one..... Start with a thick slice of granary bread and spread it with some marge. Next add a layer of sliced gerkin and generously top that with some 'Frenches' mustard. On top of that add a layer of pastrami and on top of that a layer of turkey. Add a second slice of thick granary (unbuttered) and onto that slap a big dollop of mayo and spread it around. Now add a big handful of grated cheese and top that with onion, lettuce, tomato and cucumber. Finally complete the construction with a third piece of thickly sliced granary bread. Help! Can someone help me outta this chair.....? Nomme Jamie 18-12-2003, 13:39 Very lightly toasted whitish-granary bread. + Real butter. + Crunchy peanut butter. + Fresh garlic sliced and spread evenly about the sandwich ... Heaven ...
