Hey!
Just downloading a couple of tracks and one of them sounds like an old tape where the capstan head needs cleaning - where the words sound "throaty" if oyu know what I mean. It's 160Kbps - it doesen't sound "watery" like some mp3s at 128K - just throaty like an old tape.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Alex

128K or 160k if the source is poor the end result will be.
my guess is if they are new songs, and you want them, they will be off the radio.
hence the poor quality.
they could be 1000k and be poor still.
either try some more or accept kazaa, and kazaa lite are a waste of time. see the kazaa thread for other p2p progs people suggest

Whatever the bitrate, an mp3 can be of poor quality.
An mp3 isn't necessarily ripped off from a CD, but can be a recording of a track on a cassette (or record, VHS, whatever), then encoded into mp3.
You quite probably downloaded one of those.
