I've just finished this (http://homepages.shu.ac.uk/~sphayes/sheffield/) site for a university assignment. It's not that good, but hopefully I should pass  8) .

Let me know what you think.

Looks good - but I saw several spelling mistakes :-)

'situaded' is one example!

Yeah, it was a last minute rush job :D ! I'll try and correct it before it's marked though.

I found it interesting, yet informative at the same time.

I found it to be pretty good, the only problem i would say is the red writing on the blue background, its a nightmare on the eyes,or is that just me!

Couldn't read it due to red on blue colour scheme. Will try later when it's a bit darker and I can distinguish better between the colours.

Quite good but there was an 'Internal Server Error' on the guestbook which zapped the long list of comments and p*ssed me off.

I'd offer the following comments:

1) Get rid of the red text on blue background. Go for a much lighter and softer background. Try #FFFFCE instead.

2) Change the font. Don't go for anything outrageous or one that people won't have installed as standard.

3) Fix those spelling errors!

4) Get a small picture on your front page to make it look initally enticing. Pic of a student throwing up, or a shot of West Street or Ecclesall Road. Make it a GIF and under 20K so dial-up users don't have to wait.

5) Consider revising your clickable links. Use buttons instead of plain text, or consider a menu system. I use the Milonic (http://www.milonic.co.uk) menu system, which is free for non-profit use - which you clearly are.

Sidlas post is nearly a year old, so I think it will have already been marked.

My God, so it is. That project will have long been completed. I wonder why the thread was recently reopened?

Why has this topic been dragged up from the dead? I'd almost forgot about this site, and may even contemplate deleting it soon to free up precious space on the server.

Happyshopper decided to drag it back up for some reason. Incidentally, what mark did you get for it?

Ah, that explains it.

Errm, can't remember now, about 50 odd percent off the top of my head.

EDIT: Just been through the pile of old work, and I can inform you I got 54%.
