I just wondered if anyone out there had the misfortune to receive a leaflet from the Christian Peoples Alliance.

Being an atheist, I thought I would read it out of interest and was a bit shocked as to what I found

Basically, their views are those of George W Bush but with an English accent.

Homophobia
Anti abortion
Total support for Ariel Sharon (that well known Christian)

to name a few......

I'm all for freedom of speech, so I thought I would use this opportunity to complain about people putting s**t through my door.

I went in a certain pub in Fulwood, and was really put off my pint (not a easy thing to do) by the same kind of flyers all over the place. After reading some of it there seemed to be nothing but hate being preached (not very Christain) so i left my beer and went to another pub.

Well, I live in Walkley and have recently been offended by BNP propaganda posted through my letterbox. Could hardly believe it.

you expect that sort of thing with the BNP, so if you are not that way inclined you can chuck it out without reading it when you see who it is from.

The name Christian Peoples Alliance sounded quite tame. Then I suppose National Socialism did too and that was Hitlers party.

I don't think it's libellous to put a name on it (the pub) I'm dying to know which one it is.
It's not a case that someone sneaked them in and camouflaged them in piles of other leaflets is it?

Well, he gave quite a big clue when he said 'pub in Fulwood'. The Shiny Sheff is in Lodge Moor, The Plough in Sandygate, The Bulls Head's in Ranmoor , so that leaves the one in Nether Green...! ;)

Where would you class the Fulwood Inn as? Isn't the pub in Nether Green actually in Nether Green?

Fulwood is a loose term.

Anyway, maybe George Bush will turn up in the pub in question after he loses the election and sets off on his book tour.

These flyers weren't put in by accident i don't think, because i went in there with someone who knew the owners.

The pub is actually in Ranmoor, but i didn't want to be too exact, it's a few hundred yards from the Fulwood Inn. I'm sure people can figure it out. This was about a year ago i think, and i was told that the owners supported this cause. The flyers were all over anyway.

Fulwood is another of those ever expanding areas in Sheffield, I blame estate agents.
