At 5:50 on Thursday Julies waters broke.
We rushed her to hospital in Leicester where she was told that there could be anything up to 48 hurs before contractions start.

We`re now at home, shes on the couch in pain and we`re all on standby.


I was also in great discomfort, but after a 3 hour labour, I gave birth to a 12lb guff of methane.

Born at 12: 17 this morning with a weight of 6 lb 14 oz... so I remember...

Ive been standing by a bed since late... thursday night...? I cant remember.

They were planning to rush Julie in for an emergency c-section because she was in heavy labour since thursday night and nothing was taking the pain away or helping, even inducing her didnt do a thing.
Then seconds before they started preping her, Freya was born.
Then the placenta broke up and Julie had to be rushed to theater. She was bleeding heavily too so they put her under general anesthetic and sorted her out.
I rang about 10 minutes ago and theyre both doing fine and Julie should be home by tomorrow, although knowing her, when I go to visit her in a bit, I imagine she`ll be all ready to come home.

I got home at... 5ish this morning, I think, had a chunk of pork, went to bed, and slept till 9. Been doing the housework and getting things ready here ever since. Sophie is at her aunts house and tells us she DOESNT want to see the baby!
Sibling rivalry already.... heh thats my gal! :D
Thanks for all the lovely messages, I should be around later, but for now, Im goign to finish off the housework and stuff and have a bloody nice long bath.

Julie and the offspring are, HOPEFULLY, going to be allowed home later today. She was pretty much out of it yesterday because she had to go back into surgery under a general anesthetic, and when I went to see her she looked very ill.
Still, the docs say theres a good chance she`ll be allowed home as long as they know that she`ll be looked after, which she will be of course, that goes without saying.
So, thanks for all your kind messages and best wishes, Im going to be a rarity on SF, in fact on the entire internet for a while, so be good while Im away, look after yourselves and if anything horrible or obscene happens, EMAIL ME COS I WANNA WATCH! :D

Erm.. and a few corrections...

Freya-Mae is actually Freya Mae, no hyphen, she was 6Lb 14 oz at birth, not 5 lb 14 oz.

Julie had to have surgery because shortly after Freya was born, the afterborth was minced up my Julies cervix. It minced it and turned it into something resembling mince meat.

I didnt think a woman was capable of that, and I promise that its the last time I put my tender little willy into THAT rat trap! :D

Julie is walking like John Wayne after a long ride on the range, but shes resting and leaving everything, and I mean EVERYTHING up to me. Shes got her feet up and shes eating chocolate and watching TV while I run around like a scalded Tasmaniam devil. Not that theres much to do now because the only things that need doing are small things.
The sick thing is, Im enjoying it, and Im convinced Id make someone a lovely wife!
Theres more stuff on my journal for those who are interested in stinky nappies and stuff.

Ill be back later, but for now, I have a four year old to bath!

I actually have the house to myself... for a little while at least.

Sophie and Freya are sleeping and Julie is in the bath so I thought Id come and see what this strange machine is thats in the corner of the room...
After a while I remembered that its a computer! I bleeding forgot what one was, but now Im here Im going to--- be called away from it very soon to feed the baby , or change her or do something nasty that involves some sort of bodily fluid...

I took my four year to school this morning and Julie and Freya came along too for a little fresh air, it was fine, but within seconds we were surrounded by about 30 women, all clucking like hens at the buggy and its contents.
Took us 20 minutes to get into the school in the end, and when I went to collect Sophie this afternoon, the teacher informed me that Soph had become so stressed during the day that she peed herself.
She loves her little sister, and we`re trying hard not to give her the impression that her nose is being pushed out and we`re doing fine, the trouble is, shes scared that someones going to take Freya away! The only babies Sophie has had contact with up until now have been the babies of friends/relations and shes not quite sure if Freya is ours for ever so she thinks we`re going to be taking her away at some time.
Still, shes doing ok.
Thanks again for your messages, and Im going to try hard to spend more time at the comp, but you know how things are. Julie is still very weak after her op and I have to look after her, which means subjecting her to my cooking for starters, which cant be doing her much good.
