I have inherited a VCR without a remote, and there's functions which I can't use without one (such as fast forward and rewind - fairly crucial?!)

If I go and buy a universal remote how do I know if I'm buying one that will be compatable?

The universal I bought has a list of compatible VCRs with it. There is also a search facility on the remote which allows you to set it for any system not listed. Can't think of the model off hand but I'm guessing all universal remotes offer the same facility.

Netto never lets you down!

Will nip down Dixons at lunch and have a reccy just in case, but 2.99 sounds good to me!

There is a site that does exact replica's of remotes - can't remember what it's called though!

I'll dig it out and post it here.

That's the site - that's what the remotes look like.

Failing that, buy a new cheap one because an original remote controller will cost nearly as much from my experience.
