While watching the Victoria Wood Moon Walk for Breast Cancer on tv last night I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if we all suddenly stopped giving to 'health/illness' charities like this one.
Some may see it as being tight but should a very rich society like ours in the 21st century have to rely on thousands of women walking the streets of London through the night to raise money for something as basic as cancer.
It is my opinion that while ever we do this type of thing the Government of the day see it as one less thing that they have to fund. Their conscience is cleared, the responsibilty is removed from them.
Where do you stand?
