I planted my daffs only last autumn, and although the ones on the sunny side of the garden look plump and ready to flower, Ive had no show of yellow yet. The ones on the shady side are noticably smaller. I have seen some in flower in someone elses garden though.

I know its all down to the variety you have, and possibly when you planted them and if they are established or not, but I just wondered if anyone else had any yet. I know mine were just from a mixed bag from either Morrisons or Wilkos.

Yellowrose strange you should mention this, a friend of mine has had one in flower for five days now.
Last year she had a dozen or more plants up, but thanks to the squirrels she has just the one plant left this year.:(
Norfolk Park has plenty of Daffodils in bud but as yet no flowers.

I went for a walk up near Damflask in January, and the bank by the road that leads up to The Nag's Head was smothered in daffodills. They looked as if they'd been out for a while. I couldn't believe my eyes, and it was especially surprising that they'd flower first out in the open hills.

No not yet Yellowrose. I have hundreds of daffodils, and like yours the ones on the shady side are far behind the others in the sun.

I have half a dozen out in my garden in Meersbrook and loads more on the cusp. It's a sunny south-facing garden sloping gently downhill so it's a real suntrap. However my Wych Hazel has only just started to flower whilst those I've seen in the shade have been in flower for months. Maybe everything doesn't flower earlier in a warmer winter - many trees require a certain number of cold days before budding so maybe it's the same for some bushes.perennials too.

YAY! Spring is almost here! One or two of my tete-a-tete are just unfurling their petals ... but I drove past the garden of the Cholera Monument this afternoon and a lot of the daffies near the gate are already well in bloom.

My neighbour has some out, and they're out on University Roundabout... My mum also has hers out but do I??? NO!!!!!!!!! :suspect:

Typical, mine are barely popping their leaves up, I've only just got snowdrops coming up and crocus'. I swear someone has it in for me.
Yet I've had Iris' coming up since November, my Alliums and Fritilleria are on their way too, I just don't understand it anymore :loopy:
