DancingDave 21-02-2007, 16:25 Don't even think about it, it involves soaking your teeth in Peroxide, so they may go a little bit whiter, but they also get damaged in the process making them more likely to get stained afterwards. The whole thing is a con, Dentists buy a kit for £5 and charge you £ 120 or more. Just give them a good brush TattyBear 21-02-2007, 16:28 All the celebs have it dont they? are maybe im thinking veneers are they different? *Ryan* 21-02-2007, 16:28 Hows about buying some whitening toothpaste. Try Bite smile, they have a website and it will tell you the Dentists in sheffield that do this.My friend had hers done and they look realy good. There's one in city centre I think. t9900 22-02-2007, 15:09 Hi Tattybear, I had the Britesmile done about a year ago after growing tired of trying all the whitening toothpastes etc that you can get over the counter-just didnt work. I really researched it first, as i wasn't sure if it would damage the teeth like someone mentioned in this thread-but it is completely safe and does not damage the tooth at all. I looked on Britesmile website and went to P S Burns dental surgery in town (near john lewis). The receptionist was lovely and talked me through the 3 different price options they had for the britesmile-i think the cheapest was £450 with the most expensive being £650 (probably best to call up and double check-it was a year ago, but i remember him telling me he could do it cheaper than most places because he did so many). the procedure was done in 3 x 20 minute sessions (all in one go) and they had dvds for me to watch while i had it done-he shows you before and after pictures and i went about 8 shades whiter!:D They fit me in really quickly and my teeth are still lovely and white, alot of my friends went on my recommendation and all were so happy with the results. I can 100% recommend britesmile and this PS Burns dental surgery. i was so impressed by how quickly mr burns saw me that im actually a regular patient there now too. hope this helped anabella 22-02-2007, 18:43 Hi Tattybear When I asked my own dentist about this, he said don't bother wasting your money on that. He recommended that I buy some teeth whitening strips on ebay. He said they are American, with fab results. Good thing is they are only 40 pounds. I thought this was a helpful tip rather than trying to rip me off, and he is a very reputable dentist in Ecclesall.I havent had the chance to use them yet, but have bought some.:D Shaun_A 22-02-2007, 21:11 I looked at the 'britesmile' method and apparently the system can be used by anyone dentist or other, my next door neighbour went to a hair salon in Hillsborough and had hers done 2 x 20 mins that's all she said she wanted and it cost her £195 total. Shaun www.sheffieldcleaning.com t9900 23-02-2007, 16:25 How good were the results from the hairdressers? i'd be a little dubious about going to the hairdressers to get my teeth whitened?! fluffystuff 23-02-2007, 16:28 see if this guy can help richardhammond@topgear.co.uk :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: tymr 14-03-2007, 01:49 Don't even think about it, it involves soaking your teeth in Peroxide, so they may go a little bit whiter, but they also get damaged in the process making them more likely to get stained afterwards. Just give them a good brush Do your research, dancing dave! peroxide doesn't damage teeth, just hair.. which is very different in composition. Peroxide has been used in some form, for antiseptic then tooth whitening purposes for over 60 years now. Celebs often opt for a combination of BOTH tooth bleaching and veneers.... but of course they can afford that sort of thing. "A good brush"... now there's a good idea, I'll bet they hadn't considered that option! Just give them a good brush Believe me, 2 years of brushing, whitening toothpaste and "boots" kits didn't get rid of the stains on my friends teeth. Don't know the exact price, but a couple of visits to the dentist gave her an amazing boost in confidence. She can now smile and talk to people without being embarrassed. She had it done about 7 years ago, they haven't stained again and it isn't a con. :| John Hope 14-03-2007, 11:28 Heres a metacafe video on how to bleach your own teeth for nearly nothing. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/370806/remove_years_of_coffee_stains_from_teeth_suss_sass y/ Rachylou 14-03-2007, 11:42 so i assume this is how the hair salons are doing it then???? dont know if i'm brave enough to do that myself though.....may try it one saturday night after a few:hihi: heavenlyarts 14-03-2007, 12:58 www.whitesmile.tv I di not know if it's any good .
