does anyone know of any place that it is legal to take motorcross bikes, i want to abide by the law but the only place i know of is simx and it costs 15 quid a day, so is there any large fields owned by private people or companys, that i could contact and try to arange some sort of place for people who dont have the deepest pockets in sheffield to goto, if something was done to help the problem of people having to ride in the woodland and field area's open to the public it would reduce the time police have to spend chasing people who just have no where else to go,i have a motorcross bike and have no where to ride it unless i pay the high fees of places made for the job, but im more than happy to just ride on rough ground and i know there is lots of it ,so any sugestions id like to start and take a step towards making this situation better
anything anyone can put forward would be great

I've heard there's an indoor motor cross centre in Sheff.. anyone been? is it any good?
Also, are there any outdoor places to ride? Tracks? Fields? or whatever?
And lastly, what's the best kind of bike to get that's good for off-road and decent off it? Been looking at Suzuki's DRZ400 (road legel version)... new to this off-road lark so advice appreciated.

Cheers

The place at Templeborough, opposite Magna - called something like SYSX (south yorkshire supercross I gather) looks pretty large. Nice big building - old steelworks. Never been in - don't ride myself - but it looks pretty big from the road, you cant miss it.

There was another place at Ecclesfield - was it SimX or something? Think it was closed down after an accident of some sort. Shame.

Edit:

take a ganders at this - looks pretty sweet...
