can anyone help please
my windows xp keeps crashing 3 / 4 time a day at least
mainly when i put in a dvd/cd in my external drive and internal drive it just locks up and i have to reboot also has a habit of rebooting for no aparent reason
i have tried to use xp disk to repair but can not get past blue screen wanting to format hard drive reluctant to do this as i have lots on c:/ and would take forever
any help PLEASE

If you can't get to the repair screen with the recovery disks, it's quite likely that you don't have enough memory (it happened to me last year), and that could be the reason DVDs lock it up, because there's isn't enough memory to run them.

Have you checked how much space you have on your hard drive?

If the above is of no help, can you give some system info?

EDIT: Oh, I see you have checked your hard drive. In that case, all I can suggest is that you transfer some stuff to disk, or an external hard drive. It sounds like you have a lot of unnecessary stuff on your computer, which can be put on a separate disk. If you don't do something soon, you could lose the lot ~ believe me, I'm speaking from experience!

Ann: have put stuff onto disc already and there is 86gb free on d: and 10gb free on c: so memory shouldnt be a problem
