View Full Version : What will Sven's reaction be to the Beckham situation?
Now that Beckham has admitted that he deliberately got booked I wonder how Sven will react to this. He has said that he is going to decide what to do after the game.
I don't think he will take any action.
He will probably 'consult' his captain before 'they' come up with a punishment!
some_boy 13-10-2004, 08:09 sounds about right!
in fairness it was a professional thing to do. his yellow card slate is clean for future games, and he knew he couldnt play anyway.
just as you think becks is been smart, he goes and admits what he's done!
I agree with what he did, it was the clever thing to do. I do believe that it wasn't the only reason though. Beckham knew he was injured and wanted to get his own back on Thatcher. I don't think he should be punished, it was only a booking.
he won't take any action because it's Beckham, if it was Shaun Wright-Philips he would never play for England under Sven again.
What situation...what exactly did he do???
He used his head for once and did something that I can guarantee that a lot of other players have done or thought about doing.
As usual Sepp "stick my oar into everything England" Blatter has to have his pointless say. I just wish that fat useless lardarse would shut his gob. He has an opinion on everything and always seems very quick to comment on England matters.
We don't half make a story out of nothing. I bet the same people who are slagging him off now were singing his praises when he scored on Saturday.
Greenback 13-10-2004, 11:00 But... why did he have to come out and admit it? He must have known the embarassment it would cause his manager, and for the sake of what – his ego?
some_boy 13-10-2004, 11:33 he did something clever!
then had to tell everyone how clever he was!
then by admitting it, showed his lack of intelligence
As daft as it was him coming out and admitting it, it is unfortunately a sign of the times what with the amount of grief David Beckham gets in the papers. Sundays newspapers were all about how daft and stupid he was to get booked with them calling him foolish, idiotic and I lost count of the number of so called ex pro experts gracing us with their almighty opinions.
This was his reaction..to say to the idiots that make these judgements and presumptions that they were wrong. He knew what he was doing so get the facts straight...etc etc.
Anyone would think he broke another players leg, or spat at the ref the way its all gone off...jeez.
That loon from the Daily Mirror..Oliver Holt. He who happens to regularly spout drivel today reckons Beckham should be stripped of his captaincy...what utter crap.
Why exactly shouldn't he admit it? He was getting loads of stick in the papers about the tackle, so maybe he felt he should be getting some praise instead. What he did isn't against any rules is it, getting yourself booked on purpose? He doesn't deserve any punishment other than a one match ban. I'd rather he missed this match than a more important one.
He has cheated the system though.
I know it may not be uncommon but to then openly admit to it doesn't' bare thinking about. It could come under 'bringing the game into disrepute'. He is supposed to be a role model and captain of England. Deliberately getting booked is not very professional IMO. His ban should commence when he is fully fit again.

Probably to take him and posh to the Ivy for dinner.
Apparently he has had a word in his ear and told him "Silence is golden".
So, the FA has decided that there is 'insufficient evidence' to charge the England captain. They only had an admission and video evidence. What is there to investigate and what evidence could they possibly have been looking for?
Criminals would be able to have a field day!.
"Yes your honour, it IS me on the cctv"
"Yes your honour, i DID rob the bank"
Case dismissed!, Lack of evidence!
LOL :hihi:
