Hi everyone I am currently a Personal Trainer and Masage Therapist working in Rotherham for fitness first. I want to move out of the gym and start my own home training business up. This would involve me travelling to a clients house and training them in their own home and surroundings. I am thinking of prices of £25 per hour. Please let me know what you think becuase its a big step quitting a job and setting up from scratch a business.

Would you like be trained in your own home? Do you think its a good idea? and would you pay that sort of money for it? I would be very grateful for your thoughts and inputs. Cheers everybody.

£25 an hour is dead steep considering you can have membership at Fitness Unlimited or Fitness First for between £26 and £29 a month!

That includes swimming, sauna/health suite, gym, qualified instructors, classes, etc.

Might want to re-think your price and/or the time you're offering.

I think £25 an hour is alright, cos ur giving them all ur attention and helping them personally, if i had money, i probably wud pay that much.

Wouldn't it be best to go part time at 1st to test the water,
and if it goes belly up at least you have a job to go back to,and if it takes off then great....just a thought!!

I am studying for my full ymca personal trainers award at the moment and have already got my reps level 2 cert. I can say that that price is reasonable providing you are a full level 3 or equivalent personal trainer (not saying your not, but there are a lot of "gym instructors" doing personal training out there!).
Of course most punters have no idea what reps, cyq etc means so they can get away with it. Definately an industry that needs some sort of licensing in my opinion.

Anyway, yes 25 is fine as 1 hour with a personal trainer is usualy worth more than 1 month training in a gym with no idea and usually fairly limited guidance from the staff on hand.

I will be looking to do something similar myself early next year, although maybe not as my only source of income.

Best of luck with it!
