Hi all,
Me and my parnter want to walk our dogs somewhere different this weekend, normally h'boro park, rivelin, beeley woods (never got as far as the waterfall though) must have took a wrong turning and we are getting bored.
Can you recommend anywhere? we would have to travel by bus there and back so somewhere that is easy to get to would be nice?
thanks x

Hi - me and my OH took our staffordshire 'Tia' to Castleton yesterday, we went up one of the rather large hills to the right of Speedwell caverns. Bless her, she pulled me practically the whole way up as I didn't have sensible footwear on and was slipping around in the mud! We let her off along the top of the hills, I have never seen her so excited and full of life, all the new smells and people. It was quite nice to watch, she was belting round, up and down the rocks, in and out of caverns. She is so agile and nimble, we were really amazed! She found the biggest bog ever and was rolling round on her back in it, she was in heaven!
Had a really fab day! I recommend it!!

I got there by bus... will have to check which one I took!
Heres a map (http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c12/KATIEB_23/graves-pk.jpg)
Use the journey planner (http://195.152.136.10/) on this page to work out which bus is best for you.
I know there is a bus stop on Chesterfield Road by "The Big Tree" Pub (postcode S8 0SF) and also one where Hemsworth Rd meets 'Bunting Nook' at the North East entrance of the park.
Hope this helps!

What about More Hall Reservoir? You can catch the 57 or the 58 and get off at the bottom of the entrance road. You can either do a walk round the reservoir and woods, or walk through to Glen Howe Park and get the same buses back from there...

I don't know - there is an animal farm or park or something, but we never go in there so I don't know if it sells them. Its always swarming with kids, and Gadget's too excited about running off into the woods to chase squirrels!
I think they rehome small furries don't they??

When we go to Graves, I always take Molly in there - on her own though as the other 2 would go bananas ! Molly loves it, she just sits & looks at all the animals !

From the things I've heard, I wouldn't touch animals from there with a very large stick

I might take Gadget in there when I goon saturday then - he loves looking at the animals at Pets@Home! He stands there with one paw raised, tilting his head from side to side!

If the weather is ok we are going to go to graves park on sunday, just with molly as pippa will be resting from her op.
Dont know if i should feel guilty about just taking molly though. :(
