can anyone tell me what an electronic does that a manual doesn't? I had a machine in the 80s but as usual it was a fad and was relegated to the garage. The newer ones look a bit different.

I have no experience with knitting machines at all. I know Medusa has though, so you might want to PM her, in case she doesn't spot this thread :) .

I bought a manual knitting machine over a year ago off eBay. Can't say I have ever even had it out of its box - I just have no interest in doing it...I much prefer sticking to handknitting!
