before my boyfriend left me 3 weeks ago i was planning to get a beautiful labradoodle puppy. i have been seaching for the puppy i want for nearly a year now and i think i have finally found the puppy for me, i still have to check out the breeder properly, the litter has just been born.

the problem now is that i work at the weekend, and now my boyfriend has left igetting a puppy would mean leaving the puppy alone for 6-8 hours on a sat - just not an option.

so i have 8 weeks to find a solution, or lose this opportunity to get my perfect puppy -so far i am considering a possible dog share, i will be able to house the dog and will cover all costs etc. a recommended pet-sitting service, or any other ideas will be greatly appreciated.

oh - and i live in between crooksvalley and walkley.

like i said any suggestions, recommendations, or ideas welcome.

thank you x

HI,

What about paying someone to look after the puppy for you? not a professional but just someone who loves dogs?

If you are hoping to be able to do a dog share (which is a great idea :) ) please consider crate training

If you use an indoor kennel it will help the dog to settle in different locations taking his/her own little space with them each time

google croftonline for good quality cages (don't bother with Argos, and even the staff at pets at home don't recommend their own either), and advice on how to go about crate training a pup/dog :)

HI,

I am a professional that loves dogs thats why we do this job rather than working in Asda or somewhere like that.
Professionals are insured and can provide references , police checks and love the animals in their care

Thanks strix,

i work in at Jollyes so have all the stuff i need, our crates are really sturdy, fold down flat and have a metal rather than a plastic tray, and i get a staff discount!!!

i will definatly be crate training and i recommend it to all of our customers who come in with new pups, alot tend to take a look at the crates and say 'i would never put my puppy in a cage'. i believe it is the only safe place to leave your pup if you have to nip out. i agree it becomes their safe haven, which he is definatly going to need with being in different places on different days, and is great for toilet training.

people dont realise that it only becomes a negative thing if you use it as one, ie-as a punishment the puppy get sent to its crate. so i always advise on how to use a crate properly.
