does it have to be in printed film? Because ive taken some lovely (IMO) shots of wildlife around my local area of sheffield (mainly plants due to their static nature  ) with my digital camera.

Yes I was wondering that. A lot of the stuff myself and my son have done are just sored on the PC but not printed off on photographic paper etc.

Is there a facility within the competition to email pics through?

Thanks

Just checked the post and I've got my entry pack this morning.

In the rules it states that:

(iv) Images must be in colour and may be submitted as prints (no smaller than 7" * 5") OR digital photos on a CD as JPEGs resolution min. 200dpi. (Images submitted electronically must be accompanied by a colour print of the photograph).

So I guess that as long as the resolution is good enough (7x5 in. at 200dpi) then I should be able to get a print of my digital images at Jessops and submit them along with the jpegs.

Yes that's right - Digital prints are accepted, but we need a colour printout of what the photo is - it doesn't have to be on photo paper, it can be on plain white. Its more of a reference thing really - in case we get hundreds of images on CD.

Unfortuantely we can't accept emailed photos as our server would die! So put them on CD and post them to us instead.

Happy photographing!

Can't do that as we don't have a re-writer.

Never mind :-(

I've also sent off for a pack - it's somewhere in the mess that was our lounge (currently all piled into dining room, as waiting for carpet fitter to come!).

Do pictures from Derbyshire count ? Have a few I've taken when walking out monsal way that I'd thought about submitting.

Perhaps Geoff would be kind enough to set up something through the forum? A space where people could upload their photos and we could download them at the Trust.

How about it Geoff? Pretty please...

Nice photo!

Stick it on a cd or a flash card and take it to Jessops. They'll print it for you.

Excellent! Smashing job.

I still haven't managed to get out much in Sheffield or South Yorkshire with the camera. These short days and long nights are annoying. I shall hopefully get something submitted before the closing date. I would love the chance to see one of my pictures on all of tram stops.

Thats great ptigga, i hope you do enter. One of the categories is about people & the outdoors, so get shots of families walking in the local park, playing football or looking at wildlife.
