Need to be in LA this summer, so ive been looking around on the net for a flight and got given this outbound flight itinerary
London Heathrow - New York JFK - Boston - New York JFK - Los Angeles
Which worked out to be cheaper than flying to LA direct or doing Heathrow - JFK - Los Angeles
It may sound about right... US is SO big. There's only a handful of cities which have international connections.
I remember doing the journey :
London Heathrow -> Minniapolis (?) -> Seattle -> (Vancouver)
If you want an easier journey, do check out what the available connections are on a world-wide basis, or look at connections within the US. There's a map floating around the internet somewhere which shows ALL flight connections in the world. I recall coming across this before. You'll be able to see which airlines flies where, and approach an agent with a better preferred route for an estimate.
Also, consider departing from a different UK airport too, than just Heathrow.

My choice, which I undertook to get to the Breeders Cup was BMI (economy plus) to Chicago and then changed there for an LA flight. It didnt go like clockwork on the return because of the bush fires, but worth a look? That was from Manchester.

Yeah that was the part i found strange, why not just send me Heathrow - JFK - LA
Why sent me up to Boston to only then be sent back the New York before going onwards to LA.
Anyway ive booked myself a direct Heathrow - LA flight with British Airways
