A quick note from a non-Sheffielder about Sheffield's Wool Baa. I'd highly recommend the mail order service.

Jill doesn't have a online shop as such, so I browse the web site or email her to see if she has what I want in stock, then I send a cheque instead of paying online.

Just received my three magazines this morning: swift delivery, well-packaged and postage at cost (what it says on the Royal Mail postage label is exactly what you pay).

Overall, a very impressive service. Highly recommended :) .

I second that. Jill ordered me some Cascade 109, charged me only what it was worth and when she had to post me out an extra skein because I underestimated the amount I would need, she only charged me the exact amount of postage it said on the label.

LOL Have you tried The Knitting Zone (http://www.knittingzone.com/)? It's an American shop with excellent postage rates, and as the exchange rate is so favourable at the minute... :P

Sorry, couldn't resist :D .

I get a lot of my shawl patterns from the Knitting Zone as downloads but I've never bought anything that needed posting. I love the process of see it, want it, get it now. I just have to remember not to use Firefox with the downloads because it all goes horribly wrong.
