I am thinking of buying a place that's very close to a mosque in Sheffield. Does anybody know if traditional calls to prayer are observed in this country? I've got no problem with this...just wondered if it might be a bit loud?

In the past I have heard the mosque in Atterclife near the science park calling, but when I lived at Page Hall I never heard that mosque calling.
So it may depend on where in Sheffield you are thinking of moving.
Sorry I can't be more specific.
I used to live in a rented house on London road when they opened a mosque next door but one. I never had any problems and it was really quiet.
I only got woken once in over a year with people going in early one morning for a big celebration day which compared to the amount of times I got woken up by drunks on the way back from the pub is insignificant! I found everyone really friendly and polite.
Only problem you might have is parking when the taxi drivers nip in for a few mins. I did'nt have a car at the time so it did not affect me.
