Any one sign up for one of the Sky Packages that were on sale last week in Hillsborough Arcade. Signed up for package that included Sky broadband. Just found out that the broadband part of the package is not available, at the moment. What were they doing selling something. that is not available tantamount to fraud I would say. Was assured by the salesman at the time that it was available. Anyone else been duped?

I believe it is available but only in certain areas, so it would depend on which exchange your telephone line is connected to. When I checked two different Sheffield post codes one said available the other not.

Was asked for phone number and post code was told it was available, otherwise I would not have signed.

Ok, I agree with your first post then :) Sky will or rather should let you cancel and owe no money.

theres another thread about this at the mo.

I was duped, we signed up in november, only to be told that the free broadband wouldn't be available until at least March.

A mate of mine had the same thing with the guy flogging broadband in Hilllsborough Arcade. He asked him if it mattered where he lived, and the salesman said that it didnt. It was only when he actually checked, that he informed my mate, that it was going to be 17 quid a month.

Also threatened the guy with an official complaint to Sky as well.

Do you not have 14 days 'cooling off' period?

Would'nt touch Sky Broadband with an elongated barge pole after the problems my mate has had.He moved into his new property in Stannigton last Autumn, and the BB part of his package is still not up to full connection speed even now.He regrets signing up for this part of the deal.

My Dad's on the free Sky BB option in Stannington, and although it serves his purpose I personally think it's rubbish. The router regularly times out and has to be reset, and the connection itself doesn't always connect or is painfully slow when it does, even for a 512k connection.

All because the exchange at Wadsley Bridge (behind Fletchers) is a piece of crap!

Use BT broadband at the moment and as far as I am aware this is supplied from the Wadsley Bridge exchange and do not have any real problems could be a little faster but have no trouble with router timing out.

I get 1.1Mbps via wadsley Bridge - COULD be worse!!
