Can anybody give me any more info on this band.

Apparently they are from Sheffield and are quite good but I've never heard of them.

Hi Fiona

The moon have been around for quite a while and used to be known as carousel moon before becoming the moon about two or three years ago.

The Moon

Since Oasis there hasn't been a truly influential rock 'n' roll band in the tradition of The Pistols and The Stone Roses.

Chris Martin and his Coldplay comrades have conquered the world but are hardly the wild men of modern Britpop.

The Moon
This niche hasn't gone unnoticed by The Moon, a quartet from the Steel City that claim to be 'a group with the commitment to become heroes'. I was eager to see if this was the case.

Jon Windle is a natural front-man. He lurched around the Boardwalk stage with a confidence and enthusiasm that the swelling audience couldn't resist.

After the opener, Better Skies, a tune that smacked of the Charlatans, he and his band-mates performed all three tracks from their forthcoming second EP, Breaking Barriers, Circles and Already There.

If this gig was anything to go by, the EP should be reminiscent of the indie sound of 90s festival crowd-pleasers such as Shed Seven and The Bluetones, not-to-mention the 'Madchester' scene.

The Moon
The concoction worked a treat and 'Hero', unfortunately not a cover of the Bonnie Tyler classic, was the encore that all were hoping for.

Having plied their trade for five years, it seems The Moon, now deep into a summer-long tour of Britain, are yearning for success. They are young (early twenties) and aren't the finished article just yet.

The potential, however, is clearly there.
