i'm planning a special holiday next year (probably Feb)
looking @ Dubai (went 2005 solo) or Goa.

i like something to do except count grains of sand.
does anyone have any advice.

thought of Borneo etc but we are extremely particular over the treatment of captive/wild animals and decided against.

Try this place in www.woburnresidencemalindi.com in Malindi, Kenya. 10 minute walk from their private beach.
Eat off site for cheapness. Also, on Watamu area. Directly
on the beach is an Italian timeshare- Blue Bay Village via ii
but is limited availability, looks fantastic does an all inclusive. Nice but not as great as the above Aquarius and this one I'm not
sure if it's timeshare but Ocean Sports Club Hotel. The coral sand, warm still, gin clear waters of the Indian ocean. Prospects for a
great 3 day trip to the Masai Mara. To touch snakes. See venomous spiders... My other suggestion will obviously be kololi. Because
I've done Xmas there and the fireworks on new years eve across the beach front hotels was quite cool- not all inclusive but the restaurant menu currently smacks of good taste, varies daily/nightly.
But is surprisingly good value. For something new in uk travel you
simply must look into the Cape Verdi Islands. This has been a Portuguese stomping ground for so long with temperatures and climate not unlike the Caribbean. If you can't get an all inclusive there is
always holiday choices in economies that are ef'ed up!!! I mean Ecuador I'm told is roughly $4 for dinner $6 for a hooker but don't ask for two blondes as you get a couple of lagers. Don't ask for lager as that's a male member! Stick to simple Spanish ''Dos servesa por fafor'' Crikey I know too much. Caribbean is nearly all inclusive places as it's dirt cheap there too.

I returned from Borneo yesterday and did not actually see any captive wild animals at all.We did go to the Sepilok rehab centre though, where they are doing excellent work in education and rehabilitating orang utans.

There does seem to be a genuine eco awareness, although it may be too late.
The biggest problem is the deforestation of the jungle and the planting of oil palm in it's place.
We were lucky and saw a lot of wild animals including orang utans ,crocodiles etc.
I personally would prefer Borneo to Dubai any time, but do not fly Royal Brunei Airlines.

If you like active holidays, or just the istorical aspect of a city or country. Look up holidays in the likes of Cox and King to give you ideas. They're one of the higher end of the luxury holiday market, but unsure how ethically they are as a travel agent. You can always try and look up other agents who are more ethical, and choose them on the same destination.
