We're in the process of looking to get a new kitchen fitted. As part of this we need a wall bricking up and a doorway putting back in where it originally was.

We've been to a couple of places : 654 Kitchens on Abbeydale Road and Oakbrook Kitchens (nethergreen) and both have quoted over £20,000!!!!

We need approx. 8 wall cupboards, 8 floor cupboards, fitted hob/oven/microwave etc. We'd also need lighting, tiling etc. - basically rip out everything and replace with new.

Ideally we'd like to pay around £10,000 to £12,000 for everything.

Any suggestions for someone to do this?

Thanks in advance

Kitchen Appliance Warehouse, Green lane, Ecclesfield (it's a bit hard to find but worth it)

We got quoted the same £20 000 at other places ie Traditional Furniture Company (all though the quality here was excellent) and a place on Chesterfield road called New Interiors.

Kitchen World/ Aplliance World wanted £16 000 ish but the quality in my opinion wasn't that brilliant.

Kitchen appliance Warehouse quoted £13 000.

This kind of job is what I do all the time , you wont have to find any other tradesmen to do the bricking up or plastering , we do it all . The figure you are talking about seems reasonable . Give me a call , I only use top quality materials when it comes to a kitchen because it shows , however I don't have any overheads and pass the savings on to the customer . I have never been undercut on price and can provide recomendations if you wish.

The problem with using private firms is there is no Followup.
What kind of guarantee can they give you.

The larger companies usually have specialist Warrenty teams to follow every process of your purchase & Fit.

Smaller companies usually state they can do all the tasks but are not fully versed in it.

£10-12000 is more than enough for the job.

MFI, Wickes, Homebase and B&Q can do most of the work you are asking As for the brick work you can get a reliable Builder (not Jack of all trades) to do the work for a couple of Hundred.

My boyfriends parents tried several different places, and the one they decided upon was Kitchen Creation on London Road.

They've had it fitted this week, and have had nothing but praise and it looks marvellous!!!
