Your comments would be greatly appreciated on the area of Firth Park.
I have been offered a house exchange and was wondering what the reputation of the area is (good / bad etc etc)
The property is situated near The Oval, I looked on a map and could see that this is near Longley Park.
The nearest primary school is Hucklow Primary so I would be grateful if you could also give me your comments on this school as well.
Information on public transport in to the city centre would be ideal as well if you wouldnt mind, i.e. is there a frequent service and how long does the journey take etc.
Many thanks in advance
Joanne

Ive been reading past forum threads on Firth Park and it seems to have a pretty good reputation.
Fingers crossed this exchange works out.
Thanks for your comments Pitsmoor

I have heard bad things about Firth Park but I don't know if it is just specific parts of it which have the bad reputations.
Are there any other areas which you have been looking at?

Ive heard bad stories myself, never actually lived there but do know the area well too. Personally Id see what other offers you get.

I'm digging myself a big hole here, but I lived there for 7 years and without going into too much detail ( for fear of a forum slagging match ).
I would say their is a lot of problems there that need addressing, and untill they are I would advise you to seek other options.

My boyfriend is going to have a look at the property tommorrow so he will be able to tell whether he thinks it will be suitable for me and my son.
Folk seem to have mixed views on the area and past forum comments have been pretty favourable.
All the feedback I'm getting is very appreciated so keep it coming.

I lived in Firth Park (top end of Wheldrake Road) for over 20 years up until 2 years ago and didn't have too many problems but I know that they have been lots of problems in other parts of the estate. Pm with specific area you are considering and I'll let you know. However, I will say not all of the area is bad much of it is ok, never had any problem in nearly 21 years only moved out because we couldn't find a house to buy that we liked.
